Moonglow
Never liked ELPowell as much as ELPalmer. Quote "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." - George Bernard Shaw
Tom Williams
Never liked ELPowell as much as ELPalmer. That's all right -- I respect you anyway. Okay, I admit it, not Lake's best lyrical work. Still, "The Score" and "Mars" are pretty nice. (Pun unintentional). Song80s
I think ELPowell was a good change up for the trio. I also enjoyed The Score. Quote Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ? Old No7
Never liked ELPowell as much as ELPalmer. I agree! Scary thing is -- I got what that Brit got when I was 21 back at UMass, an hour or so after our band had played a gig at the frat house where we practiced. "Some stupid with a flaregun" (or cigarette) (almost) "burnt the place to the ground..." when he/she tossed a cigarette under the cellar walkout stairs while exiting. The fire was contained but the cellar filled up with smoke, yet the drummer and I both ran back in to get the drums and my keyboards up off the floor in case a few inches of water filled the cellar. Turns out that 2 fire extinguishers took care of the flames, but a few weeks later I developed an infection around the heart due to the smoke inhalation we'd suffered. Very scary time! Yeah, it might have been stupid to run back INTO a fire -- but it was my HAMMOND and MINI MOOG in there after all! Husker
The album hasn't aged well, but I think ELPowell is a fantastic album
Moonglow
I enjoy the ELPowell album, kind of like how I enjoy The Three Stooges with Shemp as the third stooge. A very entertaining experience, but not quite the same magic as the other line-up.
