Mike Martin
Any New Year's resolutions? What are you plans for photography this year? Saving for new gear? Business plans? Or will you be publishing a book like Ken Lee just did? KenElevenShadows
For 2020, I will continue working on photos for my two upcoming books, write the second book, and just keep getting better at photography, light painting, and post-processing. Nothing specific, I don't think. Oh, also learn how to use my new Pentax K-1 better since it's a huge change from the world of Nikon that I've inhabited for 20+ years. The book publishing company has some marketing, so I will try and augment that with my own, although I seriously suck at marketing. Oh well. Joe Muscara
Maybe I should set some so I do something. I really think my iPhones have ruined it for me, especially this XR. It's so easy and convenient and it does stuff like panoramas, portraits with great bokeh, etc. that I hardly take my DSLR anywhere, much less out. Even the resolution is higher. Lou Gehrig Charles
As always, I resolve to get out more. Nothing clears away the rust like regular practice! And I need to sharpen up my post-processing skills; I've made do with just a bare minimum for much too long. Hey, tonight's the full moon! There's an abandoned grain elevator in Indiana I've been aching to shoot at night... Won't be this weekend, though; they're forecasting high winds, driving rain turning to sleet and eventually blowing snow. That can make for a different shooting experience, and one closer to home, so there is always that as a standby.
KenElevenShadows
It seems like much of the issues I see with people is simply doing it. I actually schedule things on my calendar, even if I don't know where I am going or don't have a specific plan. It makes it much more likely that I actually follow through. An abandoned grain elevator sounds perfect!!! Ed Diaz
My photography goal is to take even better live performance shots!!! Also I would like to do performance videos too! If I can swing it I want to get the Canon 85mm f1.2 lens for my can EOS R, and also get a badass off camera flash. I have to work on using a flash. KenElevenShadows
I answered already, but really, I think what I ultimately want to do with my photography (and music) is to make it sound as uniquely me as possible. I want it to completely vibrate with my personality and energy as much as possible. I hope to keep getting closer and closer to this regardless of whether it interferes with the popularity of my photos (or music). KenElevenShadows
I'm also going to try and come up with novel ways to light paint, including coming up with methods to light paint from different angles. That should be fun.
