Steve Nathan
If you followed my Moonglow thread, you know I had to scramble and find a bass player at the last moment, and none of the ones I've played with for years was available. I'd done a few Country demos with this kid Michael Rinne, and I didn't have a clue if he even owned an upright, but he did so I booked him. I was so pleased with his playing, his sensibilities and his ears, and particularly impressed with his take on Moonglow. I've since learned that he's a member of the Mason Embry Trio, and no wonder I liked him! I'd never heard of Mason Embry either, but maybe he's known around here. Pretty tasty player, I must say! I can't believe he's had to ride a bus and play my BS parts on the road when he's this good! One Example Quote Don't rush me. I'm playing as slowly as I can! http://www.stevenathanmusic.com/stevenathanmusic.com/HOME.html https://apple.co/2EGpYXK
pinkfloydcramer
Really nice! Something to emulate on my solo gigs, at least during those rare moments when I'm not playing requests for Billy Joel/Elton John/Jerry Lee Lewis etc... Adan
Tasty and lounge-a-licious. I'd be happy to hear that as background music. I'm guessing that's sort of his marketing angle in making that recording. No doubt he's got edgier chops if he wants to use them. jeffincltnc
Mason Embry is a great player. I met him several times in Pittsburgh when I lived there. He had spent a number of years there.
