cedar
At a recent jazz organ trio gig, the venue created a Facebook live video. For reasons that are unclear to me, the mix is bad. The bass is 4x too loud (even though on the stage it seemed perfectly appropriate). Anyway, I'd like to edit the audio of the video, primarily by reducing the amount of bass. My google search immediately found a couple of programs claiming that they make it pretty simple to edit audio from videos. (This link shows a bunch). But before I start experimenting, I thought I'd ask the good folks here for recommendations. Note: I am only looking to improve the sound a bit so it can be usefully shared or posted. Not expecting miracles. Any recommendations?
Mighty Motif Max
Do you have a Mac? You can import the video into GarageBand, erase the video part, and eq the audio using the graphic eq, then export back and sync it with the video in iMovie. Or you could just not erase the video to begin with and just edit and export. cedar
Unfortunately, I'm not a Mac guy.
CowboyNQ
Your link appears to have gotten lost in the arduous journey from New York, but in the past when I've had to do something similar on my PC I've used Audacity.
cedar
My understanding is that Audacity only allows for editing the audio files. Maybe I'm wrong.
CowboyNQ
Sorry, I should have been clearer - exactly as Max suggested above on a Mac - you need to separate the audio file, edit it, then re-sync to the video.
cedar
Is re-syncing simple?
CowboyNQ
If you have a decent video editing program - yes. Edit: Frankly it doesn't even have to be "decent".
