Frustrated with Keys Players on another forum or 2

I'd wager that people with good backup habits have had at least one major, catastrophic, un-backed up memory loss. (I have!) After that, the thought of doing any kind of update without backing up, regardless of a manufacturers warning, just seems insane and naive. So, perhaps a few of these Yamaha bashers will soon be joining that club.

 

THIS, in colossal spades. I had a brown-out slay me once and user error twice. Good housekeeping matters. I was once on Venice Beach when a gentleman ran by wearing a LOT of tiny bells rigged like a shirt, front and back, pounding away at a guitar and singing "Mr. Bojangles." I could do that with my legion of flash drives, which have saved my @$$ several times. I don't play the guitar, so I'll be whistling "Eruption" from "Tarkus." ("Don't stare at him, Billy, he can't help it!" )

It"s often much easier just to ask people on a forum than to do the research oneself.

 

I had a bit of a mea culpa moment myself a few weeks ago when I asked a FB Nord forum how to do a particular thing and was pointed to a functionality that I had had no idea even existed, but once I referred to the manual, there it was in black and white. I felt embarrassed I hadn"t discovered it myself.

 

OTOH, I had my answer when I checked back a few hours later, almost no time or effort invested on my part. Such a positive outcome with minimal effort could conceivably reinforce such bad habits...
