rockinredeye
What am I not understanding? I'm in the Central Time Zone and it's 9:20am here. I just read a new thread dated today from Florida that is timestamped in the afternoon! If it was from the other side of the globe, I'd understand, but Florida should only be an hour off from where I am. Is the forum clock needing to be reset? Or something else. rockinredeye
Wow. My own post is dated today at 2:23pm. Is this forum's server in England? No, wait, it's 3:23 in England. So, the server is in the Atlantic Ocean? Iceland? Quote Kurzweil PC4

Who came up with all these time zones ? Something tells me it was someone from Canada. Canada is known for its comedians , thus my suspicion Quote Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ? Sven Golly
What am I not understanding? ... Is the forum clock needing to be reset? Or something else. PEBCAK. Short answer, set your time zone properly in your Preferences under your account (click on your name in the top right corner, scroll down near the bottom of the page). Wow. My own post is dated today at 2:23pm. Is this forum's server in England? No, wait, it's 3:23 in England. So, the server is in the Atlantic Ocean? Iceland? You might want to Google "daylight saving time" while you're at it.

Docbop
Just about all devices on the internet get their time from a set of time servers that are sync'd to the atomic clock. So as long as your device and software is set for the correct offset from GMT you will be insync. The days of computers with onboard clocks are long gone. Here's a bit about the NIST server if bored you can read it. https://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi
