Kevin Sage
Currently running High Sierra on my 2018 Macbook Pro. Mainstage/Keyscape/Omnisphere all play nice. Anyone using similar made the leap to the new OS? I'm willing to go there if it's a reliable platform but haven't heard anyone speak to it yet. If there's a thread already on this topic, my apologies. Soot 29
I'm currently on High Sierra and I use Ableton Live. Ableton sent Live 9 users an email telling them NOT to move to Catalina because Live 9 isn't compatible. I'm actually using Live 10 but am staying with High Sierra for now. Geoff Grace
Here's the thread: MacOS Catalina - message from Native Instruments At least a dozen music software manufacturers have contacted me at this point, warning me to wait to upgrade. Catalina is the biggest macOS transition in years: no more support for 32-bit code. If you have any third-party software, it would be wise to make sure it's compliant before upgrading. Stokely
...only when forced to....an OS is basically just a way to open my programs, so as long as they are working and their updates continue to work, I don't give a hoot about a new OS. Motif88
I'm on Mojave with no issues but not in a rush to update my studio iMac until several more revs and clear indications for all my plugins. Docbop
Apple's iPadOS core functionality appears fine but people are reporting problems with music creation apps. Now the warning from music software publishers on Catalina I would stay away. Sounds like Apple is releasing OSes when they are still a WIP (Work In Progress). To fully test any software, but especially an OS the test matrix is huge and testing very time consuming. So I would wait as long as possible, as they say "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I'm still on High Sierra on my computer and no plan to upgrade. Part of reason is Apple OSes become even more resource hungry with each release so I hang back for stability of a known OS release and performance. I recently bought an iPad Pro because of file handling coming in iPadOS, but holding off on iPadOS 13.n until I start see lots of people saying music creation apps are working perfectly. Devnor
RME audio drivers are compatible. None of my plugins are. Genelec GLM is the only 32 bit app I use so no upgrading until they update. Sidecar looks like it could be useful with my Macbook Pro.
