OT: doesn't seem like google works as well

Our search engine always sucked, so I always used google. I know all of the ways to limit searches to the musicplayer.com domain and filter results, etc. I've always been able to find what I was looking for until now. I don't know if the site transition has anything to do with it. Ok, stopping mid sentence. iPad locked up. Whatever. I guess it wasn't important, just wanted to update something.

I've been using DuckDuckGo for over five years now, and get far more focused results with fewer ads. Sometimes I'll do a Google search if nothing comes up via DDG though.

I"ve been using DDG as well. If I read about some keyboard or speaker and used Google to search about it, I found myself getting ads from retailers.

I also pay a couple of bucks a month for a fastmail email address. They don"t scan and direct marketing like yahoo or gmail.

As they say, 'If you"re not paying for it, you"re not the customer, you are the product.'

I've been using DDG for years as well. I highly recommend it. It's my default search engine on all my regular browsers.

If you're curious about them, they have info about how their search works vs. Google et al. Even if I didn't care about privacy and tracking, I do care about the "filter bubble" that Google imposes on search results.

I was mainly wondering if something changed with the site migration that would affect search engines in general.
