I think it's a music cue from a TV show or movie of the era. I'm going to go bananas trying to figure out what it is, now...

Bob Curnow replies:

"Brad, This is a Les Hooper composition. I think it"s on an album called Dorian Blue, which also may be the title of the piece.

We publish most of Les"s music[*], but not this one because of all the w.w. doubles. Great piece, though."

*Bob has a fantastic big band catalog at sierramusic.com -- and he actually *does* have the chart!

Brad,

Thank you SO MUCH for reaching out to Bob Curnow and getting the answer to this riddle!

My friend is of course ecstatic about finally getting the answer after 40 years to this ear worm.

And what a beautiful ear worm it is, isn't it. Just a delicious piece of writing.

Again, many many many thanks.

Tim
