Lets see him use them all. I see four Digitech Whammy pedals. Why does he need more than one?

I rock; therefore, I am.

Apparently in order for the record to be official, he had to run a signal through all of them at once, and use them all in a "performance" but not necessarily at the same time. He does this near the end. Oh, and they couldn't be duplicates, so the Whammy pedals must be different models.

Obviously a publicity stunt, but hilariously insane nonetheless!

It would have been more accurate to have called it, 'world's largest collection of pedalboards'- it's certainly NOT "the largest pedalboard" at all, not by a long shot...

Agreed.

I am glad they got that out of their system at least.

There is no way to use it and no way a guitar will still have sparkle and punch going through that many pedals.

There is never enough time to be in a hurry...

I first saw this stunt - and it is a stunt, nothing more - elsewhere, and my first thoughts were much like Caevan's & KuruPrionz: It's not A Pedalboard, it's a Pedal Array, and the gain structure must be a nightmare.

I'm a pedal geek, no excuses offered, but this . . . it's a real-life Spinal Tap routine.

Still, I'd love to be able to 'cherry-pick' from all those and select, say, ten of my favorites from that bunch...

Like kids in a candy store with too many decisions to make...I like the 7 guys on the floor that it takes to make all the live minor adjustments. It does show that Sweetwater has a pretty darn good selection so you can try before you buy! popcorn

I'm trying to imagine a video that just shows a bunch of poor bastards from the lowest rungs of the marketing department having to assemble and test run that absurdity. How many hours of human effort combined, to put it together, plug it all in, make sure it all works, and set it out, nice and even, like the silver service on Downton Abbey.

If Letterman still had a show featuring Stupid Human Tricks, this might well qualify . . .

Just so we’re all talking the same language, for y’all to call it a single pedalboard, the pedals would have to all be on the same structure as opposed to a bunch of smsll boards that are still an integrated signal chain?

I ask, because I have seen all kinds of rigs with multiple attached board modules.

It's a matter of semantics, I know, but to my mind, "Pedalboard", singular, suggests one unified structure or object; in this case, you'd need something like a big flatbed truck to haul it, no one human could manage it. That also takes it out of the realm of "Pedalboards", for me. If you need a crew to help you move it and operate it in real time, it's hardly a pedalboard anymore. FWIW, I've used multi-board rigs, but I didn't think of the combined units as a single pedalboard.

Again, this is a marketing stunt, not a workable rig. Even The Edge doesn't haul this much gear, and his FX rig is pretty absurd.

I think 3 modules 3x4 feet should be the limit for each guitar player LOL! There are a lot of YouTube rig run downs of the guitar gods. Many of them have their traveling tech booths and a tech working their equipment off stage. Multiple pedals, switching boards, rack mounts, amp heads, guitars, etc., that the audience never sees. In this case I agree with Winston, it's a stunt! But, the kids and the old dudes seem to be having fun! cool

Oh, I agree it’s a stunt. Hence the involvement of the GBoWR.

But I have seen some truly sprawling effects setups. A few years ago, Steve Stevens had a touring rig of 2-4 boards (I forget) of pedals and MFX units, what looked like a couple of MIDI pads, and a couple cases of rack mounted effects. I don’t know how or how many times his signal was split, but he also had more than one head, including backups for each head he was using. The scale and sprawl was such that, as he wandered around pointing out this and that, he looked so much like a giant robot in downtown Tokyo from an old Japanese kaiju TV show.

And the aforementioned Helios Creed is infamous for using a veritable carpet of pedals and effects for his vocals AND his guitar.

@Dannyalcatraz - I've used some fairly expansive set-ups in the past, when I've had time and space to justify it. For a recent solo House Concert, I brought out 2 Guitar Synths, a Roland splitter box, 2 MFX, 2 Loopers, a tabletop Sampler on a Music stand, a Mixer and a Keyboard Amp; that's not counting all the cables, power strips and extension cords. OTOH, my Novparolo rig fits onto one Pedaltrain 1, in a HSC.

OTOH, I didn't have four versions of the Whammy Pedal underfoot, nor a legion of redundant circuits, just to fill out space. As we've discussed extensively, a lot of the pedals in that array are "kissing cousins" at best, outright clones, at worst. You wouldn't want or need 20+ Tube Screamer or Big Muff clones in any rig, anywhere, except as a product demo. I can admire the effort - and assembling that rig was quite an effort, no doubt - but that doesn't make me want to imitate the feat, nor does it begin to persuade me that any player, anywhere, would really try to play through that thing, except as a stunt.
