Dannyalcatraz
I ought this was a nifty little video. Interesting to see Ron Thorn- someone who knows guitars in a way that not all of us do- evaluates guitars while shopping. [video:youtube] Quote Sturgeon's 2nd Law, a.k.a. CEB
One of my main axes is a CV Tele I converted to a white guard Esquire. The neck and body are nice. The selector switch was poor. Overall it's a good value out of the box. I played it before swapping the guts when it was still stock and it was fine. Nothing wrong with those guitars. The switch will eventually fail under heavy use but big whoop. Quote "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!! Larryz
Cool video! I liked the TRAIN acronym...Tune, Relief, Action, Intonation, Noodle... Quote Take care, Larryz
desertbluesman
That was a cool video, I liked the middle blue one with the Hbukker in the rear, and the modern volume/tone control positioning as well as the 22nd fret. That would be my choice. Larryz
+1 DBM, on the master volume and master tone knobs and their positioning on the blue one along with 2 singles and a Humbucker...I have a Strat setup like that and I really like it! Caevan O’Shite
Cool vid, Mr. Dannyalcatraz; thanks for posting that. I do EXACTLY the same thing in checking a guitar and adjusting set-up! Cool video! I liked the TRAIN acronym...Tune, Relief, Action, Intonation, Noodle... Ain't that great? Larryz
+1 Great advice and easy to remember ...I also look for the 1st string not being too close to the edge of the fretboard which causes the string to roll off. Taylor and Gibson both mount the 1st string a little too close to the edge IMHO. Quote Take care, Larryz
Larryz
Looks like this site is deleting all of our YouTube Videos. The OP video is no longer showing up and all of the vids in the "cool new effets" thread have been deleted as well?
