Anderton
Here's what... https://www.engadget.com/2019/07/03/sony-walkman-40th-anniversary/ So by 2010, Sony had sold 200,000,000 Walkmans. That's impressive until you realize that Apple has sold around 400,000,000 iPods. Dave Bryce
Very cool. Man, I loved having a Walkman. Mixed tapes - the original playlists. dB Quote ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==
SteveCoscia
Back in the 1980s, I recorded the best running tape ever. Never got bored with it. Began with a moderately-paced tune to start the run: ZZ Top's Rough Boy (wailing guitar solos). Quote Steve Coscia
Joe Muscara
Cool. But shouldn't it be "Walkmen"? I never made a mixtape for mine. I always listened to albums I taped (usually my own) though sometimes I had to juggle tracks to make things fit on the cassettes I used. Even back then, I was always pushing the tech. My favorite Walkman was the one that collapsed to the size of the cassette box and could be put in the rack with the cassettes. Quote "I'm so crazy, I don't know this is impossible! Dave Bryce
A mix tape? I made somewhere around fifty of them. dB Quote ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==
Mike Rivers
Cool. But shouldn't it be "Walkmen"? This is the era of gender neutrality. It's "Walkpersons." Quote For a good time call http://mikeriversaudio.wordpress.com
BMD
Cool. But shouldn't it be "Walkmen"? This is the era of gender neutrality. It's "Walkpersons." And what about those who have mobility issues and can't actually walk? It's a PC minefield! zeronyne
Near the end of their run, they had some really slim and elegant ones. I always had one on my hip. I'm ancient, apparently. Quote "For instance" is not proof.
J. Dan
When I saw the title of the thread, I was hoping somebody had hacked a bunch of walkmans/walkmen to make a Walkman mellotron....that would be cool!
