JimboK Posted July 6, 2019 Share Posted July 6, 2019 Changing my KB connection situation a bit and going to start running stereo (I know, I know). So if I am using a Radial JDI Stereo, Can I run unbalanced 8' TS to the DI, then using THRU to monitor mixer with 10' TS. FOH will get the XLR from DI in cases where house runs sound. I'll just use 8' TS straight to monitor mixer when we do our own sound (mixer functions as FOH rig in those cases). I guess I just want affirmation of what I think I already know before I start soldering up custom cables. MoodyBluesKeys Posted July 6, 2019 Share Posted July 6, 2019 Don't have the JDI, but have the Stereo Radial Pro D2 (which should be the same except transformers). the 1/4" input and output are TS anyhow, so if you use a TRS cable, the ring will just be sitting there doing nothing. My Kurzweils have TRS outputs, they work fine with the Radial. Of course the XLR IS balanced that runs to FOH system. I typically use either a 6' or 20' cable, never any problems. Some placed DO have to use the isolate ground switch. Justin Havu Posted July 6, 2019 Share Posted July 6, 2019 You should be fine. I do that on gigs when I don't brng a multi-keyboard rig, although not with a JDI, just a Hosa passive DI box. I've gone both mono and stereo (using two DI's) with no issues.
