stoken6
This has been called for a gig tomorrow, shorter notice than I would like. I'm trying to work out what the keys are doing, and specifically which instrument/tone is being used? Behind the guitar overdubs and rhythm section I can't hear Stevie's keys very well. My instinct says Wurly, but it could be Rhodes or Clav. I don't know the song, so it's a manic learning session! Many thanks for any help you can provide. Cheers, Mike. timwat
Not hearing a whole lot identifiable on the studio version, so I went to a live Youtube for clues. Same thing - big unison band groove, but neither Stevie nor Victoria seem to be playing much of anything of substance that I can pick up. [video:youtube] Quote .. marczellm
Either Wurly or Rhodes will do. I'm hearing the unison enriched with chords, mostly 3rds above the line. This clip seemingly has him playing a driven guitar patch: [video:youtube] Quote Life is subtractive.Genres: Jazz, funk, pop, Christian worship, BebHop Wishlist: 80s-ish (synth)pop, symph pop, prog rock, fusion, musical theatre Gear: NS2 + JUNO-G. stoken6
Thanks both. I'm going for Nord's Nefertiti Rhodes, with a bit of distortion/Fender Twin amp sim, because we're medleying into "All I Do" (as per the album). This forum rocks, as usual. Cheers, Mike.
