Photographing Fireworks

It is that time of the year.

 

A tripod is an essential item for fireworks photography. Once you have that the rest isn't too hard, you just need to be a little lucky with your timing. I use a remote trigger but a timer could also work.

 

The first photo below was taken with an 85mm lens, 9 seconds, f/11 ISO100. Generally my settings are right around these.

what I find unique to me about these excellent photos are the inclusion of trees in the shots. I have only witnessed fireworks in cities (I don't get out much). Buildings, yes. Trees, not so much. :)

as do I, similiar to my comment on the trees in an earlier post. Different perspectives than what I have seen for most of my life.

Thanks guys! Last year my location of choice did not work out at all, so I'm glad I found a nice spot to shoot from this time!
