Lester growls much better than others, and its perfect for classic rock.

You wont get Earl Grant Fast lush tones, but its really good for dirty work.

:like: for the Earl Grant reference.

Surprised somebody here recognizes the man.

When I heard EbbTide and how he squeaked out Seagulls I grabbed everything he ever did.

One of a kind player. Not my style but my God the guy was incredible, he should be in the books of the B3 someday.

After reading this thread, I picked up a Lester K. I also have a vent II. They both sound great, even next to my 21H (2 speed conversion). I don't hear a big difference between the 2.

However, what I really like is that it's super easy to dial in overdrive on the Lester K at any volume due to its output volume. Maybe the vent has something similar? I can't find it.

The overdrive sounds great too on the Lester K.

What I like more about the Vent is its compatibility with my Ashby Half Moon. To my knowledge, there is no way to hook a half moon up to the Lester

I came across this video... I really like the sound of this overdrive on the Lester K, at about 3:35 - it's got some Tony Kaye vibe.

As an aside, I always thought that Tokai organ was under-rated, and was unfortunately savaged in a Keyboard magazine shootout. Maybe it needed some tweaking (it's very customizable), but it's really not bad at all. The later ones were pretty lightweight. And among lightweight boards, two sets of drawbars sets it apart, and it doubles better than most as a MIDI controller (whether for organ VST or other sounds) with those two sets of drawbars, plus pitch and mod wheels. The drawbars send MIDI CC as do all the other controls... it might be the best thing you could find for controlling an organ VST. Though even its own sound is competitive, IMO.

Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at https://youtu.be/3ZRC3b4p4EI is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! And hopefully I'll have something new here this year. ;-)
