I-missRichardTee
I have heard, tincture of lamb urine, judiciously put in your morning cereal can be a wonderful aid. Not too much, just a little bit. Thats good knowledge As long as no lambs were harmed, and the urine was holistically captured, it sounds like a good idea s As always, different sources, so called experts, never agree on precisely how much lambs urine one ought douse on ones Special K. Are you gonna tell me, or are you just whistlin Dixie? ( Borrowed from a politically incorrect Clint Eastwood movie The Outlaw Josey Wales). Ummm, Can the byproduct in question, be derived holistically but not politically?? Quote You don't have ideas, ideas have you We see the world, not as it is, but as we are. Losendoskeys
I have a problem with ear wax buildup which I resolve with drops. I would warn ANYONE against the destructive washing out by doctors/nurses - my experience was dreadful and I had worsened tinnitus for months on end. Use drops, take your time. It works eventually. Two drops of glycerine in each ear helps soften the wax, in 24 hours some of it just oozes out. Washing is not done anymore unless there is an absolute medical necessity, it harms the eardrum with the high pressure waterjet.

I think the doctors and audiology specialists are most qualified to determine what to do for a patient. As we are all different, its not 1 size fits all, etc. For example, google search remedies and DIY were a total waste of time , in my case. Quote Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ? Reezekeys
The large syringe that shoots a jet of water sounding like a 747 engine on your eardrum is what my old GP used to use. The last few times I had my wax cleaned out it was done by an ENT. He used a much smaller syringe that was more like a squirt bottle, filled with a mix of warm water & hydrogen peroxide much gentler, and it got the job done, although he went in with a small tweezer-like instrument to finish. Sorry for the visual!
hardware
Buy a Jodi-Vac for your IEMs unless theyre cheap and easily replaced. Then use the Vac on your ears too. You dont need your ears to be cleaner than a lean dick dog, but anything that sits in your canal isnt needed anymore. Your ear protects itself with the wax, a most efficient body organ, but you should get rid of the rest. Should be fun reading peoples replys...What? 275 bucks? What a rip off, etc. Well you only get one pair, if your ears arent worth the investment, save your money. Reason why I can hear well is because Ive been using IEMs for over 20 years. I can put on the nicest set of SD Sennheisers I own and have to turn up my headphone out from 3 to 6 or 7. Been using half of the dB any headphone uses, and live is even better. I can eliminate any vocals of instruments that annoy me. Honestly cant see why anyone would NOT use custom silicon unless theyre the drummer who sits behind the wall of audio. A syringe with warm water and HP sounds good though. Quote Magnus C350 + FMR RNP + Realistic Unisphere Mic
re Pete
Years ago after playing a wedding that got really loud, I was in front of the drummer who was on a tiered stage behind me and above. My ears got slammed. Ringing couple days. Eventually that got better but my ear itched and used small finger to relieve it. That apprently pushed in wax as I had a bout with vertigo. I went to primary doc who I told me it was wax and use the Debrox. I tried that, worked some but not enough so I eventually went to an ENT guy. He looked in and said he sees no wax but used something to vacumne it gently. Said nothings wrong. I used Debrox a couple times more and ignored any itching and not putting finger anywere in ear. It went alway. My conclusion is wax got pushed in, resist any urge to put pinky or ear plugs too far in ear and let the ear just do it's thing, maybe Debrox if veritgo appears. Debrox 'loosens ' up the ear wax culprit. It doesn't actually remove it. That is exactly what my Audiologist explained. My blockage was total, however. And I needed the full treatment. Another note, general doctors will miss detecting ear wax. My GP missed it completely. The Audiologist or specialist knows exactly and has equipment to determine severity. I am not a fan of " DIY" etc etc. Especially if the ear problem is serious. Quote Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ? Dr Mike Metlay
Note that wax buildup varies a lot from person to person. I have been using a Q-Tip in my ear canals (gently) for many years right after showering, and my ENT says my ear canals are always very clean with nearly no buildup. I don't recommend my method for anyone who doesn't have naturally low wax production; if you do it wrong, it will jam the wax against your eardrum, making extraction painful and possibly dangerous. Totally on point. There is the q-tip 'temptation' . After shower, the ear canal can get itchy. Wiser to resist. After my GP kerfuffle, I now see an audiologist/specialist every year Quote Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ?
