Padded amp cover recommendation

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

Just acquired a new Motion Sound amp and Im looking to get a padded cover for it. I used to use Le Cover. but they seem to be defunct after trying many times to contact them. Anyone else make high quality padded covers? Thanks in advance!

I just got a new pair of Mackie powered speakers and wanted to keep them in good shape. I bought a moving blanket for $15 and took it to a local sewing shop along with one of the speakers. He turned it into two nice slip covers for $80. All in for less than the cost of one bag from Mackie which was too big and heavy. Worked for me!

Jeff, which model from MS did you get?

Custom Amp Covers is the best I've come across, for custom (and often ready-made) covers on amps that don't have good ones available from the vendor or a non-specialist third-party. Affordable for what they deliver, and often available in custom colours (especially to match tweed/etc.). They sell direct and also via eBay. I average $40 to $60.

Tuki is slightly more expensive ($80 to $100) and also sells both direct and via eBay, maybe on average delivering slightly thicker covers, but similar quality.

In your case though, it seems there may already be one available.

Well, Im having a spot of trouble with it. Got a buzz when the expand is turned up that gets louder the more the expand is intensified. Other than that, I have to say that it is MUCH better than my KP-500SN! Especially for acoustic piano (using a Nord Stage 3). Much more powerful too (both 500 watts.

+1 on Studio Slips. I have tried Tuki and they are good but won't make covers to fit less common items. Studio Slips will make anything you want with some choices of style and options. They have always fit perfectly. I have Studio Slips for seven amps and a Fender Rhodes Piano Bass.

Thats the only way as most covers arent padded.

Only protection ever provided I liked better are QSCs Tote Bags.

To set the record straight, I got a call from Le Cover Larry today. They are not defunct after all. Just not returning inquires very promptly. Love his covers, though and will likely order this one from him.

Thanks for all your kind recommendations!!

Jeff
