The Pro version is only 50MB, and only requires an i3, which makes me wonder if they could make a version for iPad. They probably wouldn't want to, they could only probably charge 10-20% of the PC version. With the Ravenscroft 275 the iOS version sounds good but has very limited tweakability.

It's probably not you. It rather could be your soundcard or audio interface and your amplification system. I experimented quite a bit with different D/A converters. Pianoteq is quite demanding in this regard if you want pristine piano tone. I had very good results with an inexpensive Audient ID14 which sounds as good as the expensive RME Hammerfall. None of the models of my Pianoteq Standard suffers from any thin tone. To me Pianoteq is pure pleasure. It also should be mentioned that the standard version sounds better than the stage/demo version.

This is helpful, thanks - could be the iConnectAudio4+. However, I havent heard that thinness from traditional VI pianos and have been downloading the demo of the Standard edition of Pianoteq which can be tweaked in great detail broadly, but not octaves or individual notes. As I said, I really want modeled instruments to deliver their potential so it appears I might have to bite the bullet and spend upwards of a thousand bucks to see. Worth considering, all things considered, especially when it can be done incrementally with upgrades. Cheers.

Hey Drawback,

Pianoteq 6. is the main piano in my Mainstage or GigPerfomer rig.

Even with the basic "Stage" version, the pianos do not sound thin, to me.

Many time I have to cut the lows.

I use iKMultimedia T-racks 5 Classic EQ, and BlueCat Audio Chorus plug ins...sparingly.

The biggest difference came when I spent time adjusting the velocity curve. I first would use the Pianoteq system to capture my playing. I would then adjust the separate points on the graph from there.

In the rock band, I primarily use the Steinway D.

I primarily run the a FocusRite 18i20 2nd gen, or an iConnectivity Audio 4+
