I just swapped out the stock neck pickup on my Godin Icon Type 2 Classic for a new Duncan 59n to go along with the Duncan 59b that was stock on the guitar. The stock neck had a very dark tone which I kind of liked, but I wasn't crazy about how it blended in the middle position of the 5 way switch. The two Duncans blend together much better and the neck is brighter and warmer. I'm happy with my decision. I also bought a new Epi es-335 Pro Semi-hollow sunburst today. I'll restring and do my own setup tomorrow. I'll see how I like the stock pickups. I've heard good things about them, however I always tend to upgrade the pickups on my electrics.

Congrats Delta! Sounds like you are getting the Godin dialed in and acquiring a new Epi 335 Pro. Epi guitars are some of the best deals on the market IMHO. thu

I forgot to mention that I dialed in a good deal on the Epi. Brand new axe for $380 at the local GC. Down from $500.

Cool! Sounds like you got a great deal. Keep us posted on how you like the Epi after you get it set up! I have an Epi ES-175 Premium and it plays and sounds great after I had it set up. Came stock with US made 57 Gibson humbuckers and upgraded pots, so I didn't have to upgrade. Sounds like a real Gibson! I've heard some great reviews on the newer Epi humbuckers! thu

I put the Epi through it's paces today after a fretboard conditioning, restring, and setup. It's a great guitar. What a deal! The guitar is immaculate. It plays beautifully and the humbuckers have sweet tones in all 3 positions. No upgrades needed.

That's great news Delta...now you have a great little playing axe without having to invest a lot of money! I read about jazz guitars made by Peerless and other companies using Epi pickups. They have produced some very clean sounding humbuckers that get noticed by some serious jazzers! Epi's are super easy to play as far as the action goes too! The amp can also be a factor in making a good sounding guitar sound even better! thu
