Yes! Sorry, I should have included this in my post above. Geoff, I really appreciate your starting this thread every year and all the posters who give us a heads up about the new stuff even if it's just the standard YT vids. We're all gear junkies here and it's fun to read about it.

Just curious... when are these new Casios due in stores?

Guitar Center is just about the only game in town near me that carries Casio. For some reason the PX-5 was almost never in the stores near Portland Oregon. But I am assuming most of these models aim to be an upgrade on what was going on with that.

I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised this time.

Most likely March for the PX-S1000 and April for the PX-S3000.

Sam, I see you haven't been a forum member that long, so you probably don't know this, but NAMM stands for Not Available, Maybe May..... laugh

Occasionally, do something nice for a total stranger. They'll wonder what the hell is going on!

Ha Ha !!! So true.

Plus, maybe wait for Mike from CASIO to reply. So far in these threads, almost every post that states "facts" have been corrected by Mike. smile

Official release dates change all the time. Companies do change their mind. Just recently NI pushed back the release date for Massive X from Feb to June or something.

Also there are 3rd party approvals that can hold things up - that little UL, CE, CSA, or FM mark you see on the back. Often products have to be sent to a testing facility and you're basically at their mercy in terms of how quickly they get to testing your product. Then if it doesn't pass and you have to make changes, it gets put off even longer. That just happened to us with a product we planned on releasing in October that's not slated for the end of April if all goes well.

so true

A reason why I collect old keyboards is that I feel partly responsible for doing it, responsible for preserving history and being a custodian for these things
Plus, old gear has a story. I like that.

Totally. Which is why corrections to "facts" -like how David put it- are generally corrections to their own official statements and not just some made up release dates posted on the forum. Definitely not a NAMM or Casio specific issue.

In any case, they said they were going to start shipping late Feb/early March. Time will tell...

the Josephson mic was just reviewed by some very experienced engineers in this months TapeOp. Very high marks. I have a pair of the 617SET omni microphones over the piano. They are wonderful - super high def ridiculously clear. They also slay as drum overheads. They don't make anything bad. I want a set of the e22s to put on all the toms....

I'm sure they're high quality mics...I mean they better be! How does 617 compare to KM 184 for recording piano? I'm pretty happy with them.
