Well, it looks like I am going to have too sell, my KeyStep controller keyboard, as I am unable to use it with my iPad Pro. I need to buy a BlueTooth keyboard, in order to use the Odyssei and Animoog synths, on my IPad. Thatís what happens, when Apple changes things.

Paul, can you not use the USB to Hub connected to iPad Pro? I have an iPad Pro 2018 and a USB-c hub (Anker 3 in 1) which has USB 3.0 ports. I use a Roland controller USB out to hub and works fine.

I know that it would be frustrating that the Korg MIDI to lightning is not working. I see that a USB-C to USB adapter is about $8 which is cheaper than a new controller. Also, there are many more USB controllers than Bluetooth. I will say that I ordered a Bluetooth controller to allow Wireless connection to the iPad.

Great, and I just spent $14.00 on a USB-C to Lightening adapter. That i will have to return. I could see what KORG has, as far as a BlueTooth controller.

Why? Why do you people keep doing this to yourselves?
Apple LEFT YOU...years ago.

Their business is now soft mobile device crap, iTunes, and taking 30% of the top of everything having to do with the before-mentioned. Their "Applecare" has been proven time and again to be a sham.

Stop supporting this sh*tty company.

Well, considering the synth apps that I use, are only on the iPad and IOS platform exclusively. Plus, quite a number of Virtual synths are on apple. Look, I know you donít like Apple, and thatís fine, but my first computer was a, IIe. Also, I donít have to worry, about viruses with apple, that I do with a PC. Best to stay away from Questionable sites. Also, I was able to sync my iPad with my iPhone, which made setting up the iPad that much easier.

Also, if it means giving up a Keyboard, then so be it. I wasnít really using the KeyStep that much anyways.

Sure but my reply has nothing to do with the past, it has to do with the here and now and the future. They've left you. They're the Avid of today.

I understand the JoJoB3 doesn't like Apple. I happen professionally to use both Windows and Apple. Each has some things that they do well. Pricing wise for the typical high-end workstations I use they aren't that different.

As far as SOUNDS produced on an iPad. I just got a 128GB iPad so I can expand its use as a sound generator. (although I did get a 2017 that has standard Lightning connector so my Korg PlugKey if I want to connect my older boards with only 5-pin MIDI.
For much of the time, I just use Apple's more recent USB Camera Adapter that also has a connector for charging the iPad.

I have found some of the iPad apps completely satisfy my personal likings for sound generation. And - I'm comparing them to my Kurzweil keyboards (and SK1) which are no slouches in producing sounds that I like. YMMV.

Animoog, ARP Oddyesi, Bassalicious, Galileo, iCathedral, iFretless Bass, also Brass and Sax, ISEM, Korg iM1, Korg Gadget, Korg Module (used more than any other), Minimoog Model D, Ravenscroft 275, and SampleTank all are used at various times.

Sometimes USB connected to one of the PC3 series, sometimes PlubKey connected to the SK1 or PC2, sometimes USB to the iRig Keys Pro controller.

Added tools. I know that Ravenscroft is "better" in the notebook application (I also have two Windows DAWs and a Macbook Pro DAW), but for something easy to carry, setup, and getting the job done in a group - the iPad serves me well.

I'm guessing here, but I'd bet that Korg WILL release some method of making a PlugKey work with the new USB-C connectors. They basically have to do that or face a shrinking market for the product.

Paul - don't give up.

Avid - I do have Sibelius, but don't use it enough to justify it. I also have EWQL Pianos Gold but it is too much stuff to carry compared to Ravenscroft on the iPad. Again, YMMV.

Bizarre response given Android and Windows hardware are also migrating to USB-C. For the first time in ages we will now have a cross platform universal connector that works with USB and Thunderbolt.

The future in terms of connectors has never looked better.

I agree and admit to being an unrepentant Apple fanboi. That said, not having the headphone jack is a pain in the ass for people doing audio, and there is plenty of room on iPads to keep it. The dongle I ordered is going to look dorky and be a hack that really shouldnít be necessary.

Well, I'm sure something will be released to fix this sort of issue. Heck, they just quit using Lightning (which is what all my stuff uses) and quit making the 30-pin to Lightning cable, just when I got a Yamaha i-MX1, so I just had to import a retail-packed adapter from the UK. Yamaha is still 30-pin, Korg is Lighting. They likely will come up with something or they will lose a lot of money (someone needs to do it).

I may consider buying the Behringer D and use the Keystep with it. Then I wouldnít have to sell the KeyStep.

I must agree. Even though Apple can be a pain, the number of excellent music related apps is daunting. Also, the midi and audio support is much improved.
