I travel quite a bit for work, and I will find myself in Anaheim during NAMM. I thought it might be fun to walk around NAMM a bit. I don't know the procedure for attending, so I started to research it a bit. I started out at their website, but it seems to be quite the process to apply for a badge, and it was unclear on what it actually costs. It seems as if you have to apply for anything. Fair enough.

Before I go through that process, does anyone have any how much it costs an ordinary schmuck like me to attend? Is it worth going through the process of applying for a badge?

Instead of getting the pass from work, I applied for the badge this year. I think the cost was either $100 or $75 per badge, but then they had this promo code that reduced to $25. It took about 3 days for them to approve the application and then I got charged. I don't know if that promo is still available. You won't get charged, unless you get approved.

Is it worth going through the process? For me it took like less than 5 minutes to apply.

If you're not bagging your meals, factor in $15-20 for lunch per day. The concession stands and cafes are expensive.

The badge would still cost the same regardless.

But if you're planning the entire trip, then yes food, housing, airfare/transportation...etc...definitely adds up to something much more than $25 per badge.

The concession stands are pretty bad and expensive. You really have to get out of the buildings to recharge. They usually have good Taco trucks out there.

Just where was I disputing the cost of the badge?

Why do you have this knee-jerk confrontational disposition whenever I discuss anything NAMM?

Have I wronged you in a previous life? Stole your lunch in grade school? Kicked sand in your face on the beach? Stole a girlfriend away from you? Stepped on your pet ant?

Please come forward with the life-changing event that has lit the fuse on your tampon whenever I enter the discussion.
