Does anyone know the model # of this motion sound product, it is the speaker at the top right. I remember it being out 10 years ago. Sound comes out from all 4 sides and possibly from underneath as well. I seem to recall it came in 100 watt and 200 watt versions.

Hi Dave,

I'm fairly certain this is a non-moving speaker system. Multiple speakers are facing up towards a cone shape to disperse the sound in a surround-sound fashion. There may have been a subwoofer facing down. Pretty sure Joey DeFrancesco was involved with this model.

Dave, that is what I recall as well. I think there was an ad with Joey using one at one time. I think a leslie sim might sound great through it. I wish someone knew the model name.

Thanks for the links.

100 watt version (MS360-1):
Two 8-inch speakers
Two 3.5-inch ferro-cooled horns
One 12-inch subwoofer
•DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT
24.5”H 20”W 17”D 70 lbs

200 Watt version (MS360-2):
Two 12-inch speakers
Two 3.5-inch ferro-cooled horns
One 15-inch subwoofer
•DIMENSIONS
34.5”H 27.5”W 20”D 125 lbs

500 Watt version (MS360-5):
Two 12-inch speakers
*Four 3.5-inch ferro-cooled horns
*One 18-inch NEO subwoofer
•DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT
34.5”H 27.5”W 20”D 140 lbs

Might as well bring a real leslie for the size and weight of those speakers.

Leslie 145:
33" x 29" x 21" 128 pounds

I'm thinking that these speakers probably sound really good, especially a leslie sim going through them or a stereo piano, but they are bigger and heavier than a real leslie and not practical to gig with. Even the 200 watt version (probably the one I would choose) is 125 pounds.

that's what I thought when I read those specs, Dave. In addition the cabinet doesn't look like it would travel well

I'll bet is sounds killer though.... I'd still like to hear/play through one.

I believe the original specs on the website included black versions with that road-worthy coating. I was interested to hear how these would sound on Piano as well, since a few folks reported good results with Digital Piano through Acoustic Image amplifiers that have a downward-firing woofer.

On the other hand, I don't think anyone actually stuck with Acoustic Image long term. Regarding the Motion Sound models, they sure are heavy.
