A local hipster bar does a series where they tribute a different artist each month. This is from a George Michael night. Most of the singers kept it pretty close to the source, as is standard on these nights. But this one went rogue. The singer here is one of the busier local blues, jazz, and soul singers, and as this version progressed, it got more and more gospel.
Even though I got my FM tines on all night, I had this patch backed up with organ (volume-controlled by the mod-wheel) so I could drop in hints here and there as needed. It turned out it was needed. The very opening frame of this video is her turning around and saying "Take it, [MOI]," on a song that in theory wasn't going to have a "take it" in it. So I took it. Enjoy!
I was almost ready to go to church. You were making that little Nord sing!
OT... I wish there was a topic thread devoted exclusively to raw live audio / video performances of KC forumites.
This topic thread, as well the "Let's hear it!!! Post your music here!" topic thread, are excellent but focus mainly on studio productions and slick demos. I really enjoy seeing / hearing KC forumites like yourself working their chops on their rigs in a live setting.
