Has anyone had any problems when powering up the SP6 that it gets hung up on the loading....page and doesn't boot up?
It's happened twice to me. The first time I had to wait about 15 minutes and it finally powered on.
The second time after multiple tries I unplugged the power cable from the piano unit and then plugged it back in and it booted up.
A little bit unsettling.

Kurzweil keyboards all go through a Power On Self Test, and if any input device is sending spurious data, the load process may be affected.

Make sure your mod wheel is at the very bottom of the travel, make sure no knobs are being moved, and (if that doesn't help) try unplugging any and all pedals, etc. to see if the problem goes away.

If it does, reintroduce pedals one at a time and see if the problem resurfaces. Might be a flaky expression pedal with a dirty pot, etc.

Sorry to hear that. So far mine's powered up fine every time.
Have you updated it with the latest OS? If not you could try that. Failing that I would consider sending it back.

I checked and I have the latest operating system.

I should mention this has only happened on two occasions when I powered it off and then tried to turn it back on about 30 seconds later.

So you had been playing it... if it was an older model, I'd suggest it might be a controller that's sending out data when it shouldn't... has it been bumped or damaged in any way, perhaps a bent knob or mod wheel?

Sadly there's no MIDI Monitor function (that I can see) on the SP-6; on the PC series, you'd be able to see if a controller was sending out data while not being touched, and that would let you identify a problem.

If it happens again, try unplugging all pedals, reset all knobs and wheels to the "zero" position, and power on to see if it 'fixes' the issue.

Update:
Sweetwater has arranged an exchange. Mine ships back Fed Ex on Monday.
The replacement is in the next shipment, first week of April.
