CURRENT RELEASE: 1.4 (07/02/2018)
- New features implemented (selectable with [TRANSPOSE]+key, see Appendix)
o AO-28 Tone Control; AO-28 is the model number of the pre-amplifier used in the original
electromechanical organs and it has a “tone control” knob. Now you can simulate this control
with the [TREBLE] potentiometer.
o Calibration of the expression pedal, to always have the entire usable range with any expression
pedal.
o “Memphis Style”: on a real Rotary it is achieved by unplugging the motors on the lower rotor, so
that only the upper rotor spins. This can be useful if you are looking for a solid bass sound but
you still want a treble movement.
o Automatically detects the polarity of the "Rotary" and "Hold" pedal switches at startup. So you
can use both "N.O" or "N.C." switches
- Sound improvements on
o Percussion
o Overdrive

This is great news. I am kind of curious what they did to the overdrive... this is always a hard one to get right.

I am also curious about this tone control mod. As with the Numa 1, the treble control only seemed to affect the upper drawbar frequencies. Occasionally I like to back off on the treble, depending on speakers etc.

If someone wouldn't mind posting a link to the support page , it might help. The Viscount site seems to focus on their church organs, it's been a little hard to figure out where the Key B info is.

Once again, I am not finding much not to like but I have been a Key B fan for quite some time. The above changes make sense though. The CV seems fine to me, percussion as I use it is also fine.

The above link seems to be for owners manuals PDF files.

This one of the frustrating things about the Viscount/ Key B connection.

Thanks for the above but.... I am not seeing 1.4 update link.

It's clearly on the Legend Solo support page (finding it there is what prompted me to start the thread).

The manuals are there, the software versions history also. You also find the update guide, the update program including the firmware for both 1.2, 1.3 and the latest 1.4 version. It’s all there in the link I quoted. What are you missing?

I am missing my mind apparently.

I see a software history but no link to an update.

Don't worry too much about me. I never seem to get it in the cyber world. It's one of the reasons I like Key B... I don't have to link to wi fi to get percussion volume.

Did you try Page Down, or the scroll bar to the right of the column?

I fully agree, intuitive and easy to use and in it’s own league in ergonomics and connectivity. Also prefer the slightly stiffer keybed compared to my Mojo 61 which reminds me more about the easy triggered Korg CX3 than a real console. But first all it sounds more authentic in my humble opinion after the corrected percussion eveness of the 1.4 update. Play mostly thru a Leslie 145, but thru headphones I feel the Leslie sim is very realistic, the Mojo sim is also very nice but have a more overly processed sound like the «enhancer» or «spatializer» feature of some radios.

I'm intrigued by "Memphis Style" Leslie - are there any examples of this (either on the Legend, or in actual recordings)?

Cheers,

It sounds like you would expect if you unplugged the motors on your bass rotor. Less intense vibrato and chorus but more solid bass. One of my Speakeasy leslies is set up Memphis style without a rotor. Combined with my other conventional cabinet, I get both solid bass and the deeper throb of the cab with a rotor.

This particular Memphis Roadbox is crossed over at 500 instead of the conventional 800, because Steve wanted to get more swirl in the midrange.
