The audio demos are the opposite of what I love for in bass sounds, but probably better match what modern players using active basses prefer.

To me, they sound similar to the new bass amps from Fender, which are confusingly called "Bassman" (with some letters after it), even though they are completely unrelated to any of the still-in-production vintage Bassman reissues that work great on bass (and are safe to use on a 4-string).
