Just under 5 inches square according to Thomann, so not even half rack size. Certainly more compact then when I was gigging Ivory on a Receptor 10 years ago.

Ok so I just scrolled the images, can't be 125x120mm as it's V shaped unless my eyes deceive me.

Bizarre form factor.
What's it have for audio outs?
Target audience is home DP owners that want to upgrade engine?

It has professional stereo line outputs plus aux out for individual output routing of multitimbral sounds.

I found this a couple of months ago. Looks very interesting!

Their Sonority sound module seems just as interesting, I would say. Lots of bread and butter sounds here. A perfect companion for a Nord Stage 2/3 perhaps?

Here's their YouTube channel:

Any controls for matching velocity curve of your DP to these presumably highly detailed sample libraries?

Price point makes you wonder why any high end developer would limit an instrument to 1.5gb.

I downloaded the manual. It's triangle shaped and just under 5" per side.

Under $500!

This could be a cool piano sample upgrade for any keyboard. Hey, 3GB detailed piano samples and no PC needed! Let's hope they got the sound right. The demo files didn't appeal to me. They need better demos. Everybody would want one if Chris Martirano or Jim Alfredson would demo it ;-)

PS: According to the specs it lacks an EQ.

Also, the output jacks are TRS stereo. i.e. you would need a TRS Y cable (TRS > 2 TS) if you want to run stereo.
Same with the AUX out

This could be very cool for home use, but I can't see using it live unless I can tape it down somewhere smile

Can you get half rack enclosures you could put this into? You could fashion a box I guess. Daft concept case wise.

Only correct if you use the option for dual stereo outputs. If you just want stereo output you use two mono cables.

You are correct.

I though it said it had one stereo Output jack, and one stereo Aux jack, hence my previous post. I looked at the manual too quickly smile

Interesting idea--an upgradeable module. But don't they need a unit with much more flash memory and more optional sound packs? Put in 20 gigs of flash memory, and then offer ten packs for a reasonable price. And keep developing new packs.

And there needs to be a software editor to control EQ, reverb parameters, etc.

I really think the case decision and knob/cable placement is to Velcro to a digital piano, home type - underneath, near the aux inputs. But you could of course Velcro it to a 1U rack shelf.

Just received my V3 Grand module. Got it cheap off ebay. Connected it with my beloved PC3X. Works like a charm. 3GB full of great AP and EP programs plus a handful of organs, strings and pads. The two main piano samples are a Boesendorfer Imperial and a Steinway D. A total of 127 multitimbral programs. So far I think it's a cool addition to my PC3X and a serious upgrade of the PC3's piano sounds. The PC3 velocity maps fit the V3 module perfectly. Most of the time I am using vmap no.8 PianoTouch so far.

Does the V3 contain any "bright" piano programs that would be good for rock? Also, how does it sound in mono?

I had the V3 Grand for two days now and I like it very much. It's AP sounds in particular are full, rich and vibrant. Sound quailty is on par with the best virtual or sampled pianos I played recently. Especially the lower octaves from C4 downwards are incredibly strong and authentic. Compared with Korg Module Ivory - which is not bad at all - I like the V3 Grand better, much better.

I am not overwhelmed by the EPs though. They are usable but not up to the best like Scarbee's EP88 or such. The same goes for most of the other sounds. Usable, but something is missing. Anyway, the APs alone are well worth the money I paid. The rest is a free give-away if you will.

The connectors and pots are well thought out. The USB jack is class compliant. This means you can play the V3 with any USB keyboard. USB keybords get powered by the V3. When the V3 isn't hooked to my PC3 I am using a Korg NanoControl to set the V3's midi controller parameters like ENV, LP filter, FX and such. No PC or MAC needed. Pretty cool.

Sounds like it could be a nice complement for a Mojo (or even Gemini module), or possibly an "upgrade" for an SK1/2, SP4, PX5S, etc.

Tom,

What little I could find on youtube leads me to believe what you wrote about the sounds.

Thanks for the insight. That's an interesting gizmo.

Nice piano. Why are’nt the majors putting this quality under the hood? I expected them to years ago.

A module sounds like a great idea to me. I am sick of playing 2K plus for the latest boards.

So the midi out works with USB but there are no standards MIDI outs presumably. I guess that is OK but there are some older boards that feel nice as controllers.

It's interesting that you found one on ebay so soon after posting about this. Reminds me of the Viscount Legend solo that showed up on Craigslist... which I was able to pick up.

I'm wondering how this would compare to the new Dexibel Vivo SX7 piano module. A sound for sound comparison would probably be very revealing.

I heard a demo done on the by Dexibell on this and the S9 (which I believe has the same engine and presets) and was pretty impressed.

As far as I can tell it‘s multi mode, not omni mode.

Apologies if this has been covered already...

Can you create layers/splits with adjustable key range and route to separate outputs?
