Okay, so I ordered an Alesis Digital Piano, because I need to get back into playing. Because, I need to exercise my brain, and I need too get off, of my phone and computer. Spend way too much time on either one. Plus, I am trying to play John Lennon's Imagine, and it's hard on a 61 note controller keyboard. Also, it's a goal for 2018.

I spent a month, learning to play Moonlight Sonata. Recorded it, then promptly forgot how to play it and went back to guitar. But...I tried and it was fun! The instrument I'd really like to learn is the cello.

My opinion, for what it's worth, learn to play as many instruments as possible. Enjoy music. Wallow in it! lol

Here was my attempt at piano (If you are an actual piano player, please no laughing!!!):

Yeah, it is a great instrument, indeed! I always wanted a baby grand in the room. Not something I could ever afford (or make room for) but wouldn't it be cool?

True. Same goes for me. That's why a digital stage piano will fit in my condo.

Let's face it, I am still drawn to the piano. I love analog synths, but I really don't want too make bleep bleep noises, or what is known as drone music. Which is not music, just a lot of noise. I never knew, what I wanted, until I knew what I wanted. I need to concentrate on one instrument, and not become seduced by lots fo fancy gear, and not really use it. Having multiple keyboards, maybe alright for some people, but for me I think. One keyboard should be enough. I need to learn one instrument first, before jumping headlong into something, I no nothing about.

Then here're some unsolicited ideas you might consider.

Kboards are, like gtr, one of the easiest instruments to get started on (all the notes are easily produced & always in the same place, in that way even simpler than gtr).
The most distinct things abt them is the ability to produce not just many notes simultaneously but notes very close in pitch, which the gtr can do but not as easily or extensively.
That may not matter to some but if you consider the music of someone like Thelonious Monk, the possibilities may start to percolate.

Further down the line from that, while there are many valuable things that can be learned from experienced instructors, there may also be some incorrect things & some limiting things that they might impress upon you, such as hand positions that may be physically inefficient or even problematic.
I suggest you test as many different teachers as possible to see which are more compatible w/yer personal goals & even aft selecting who to study with, keep up w/more than one.

It's also worth getting an idea of the musculature of yer hands/arms & developing some exercises to keep them both strong but flexible.

Truth be told. I know I am never going to be a professional, piano player. I am merely, doing this for my own enjoyment, and to help keep by brain active. I had taken piano, lessons until I was 21, and was basically, rushed through them. Mainly, because my teacher did not have the heart to tell me I was not really a good student, and was not critical of my performance. Also, I never knew there was a difference between practicing and playing. Which, I just found out recently. Actually today, to be honest. The practicing, means take a section of a song, and playing, it over and over again until it comes naturally. Also, I hated the songs, I was taught to play, and I don't like there classical method. I can pick things up music wise. By repeating the same section over and over again, until I am comfortable with it. Also, I will practice, for a while, take a break and practice some more, and If I ever get board, there is the backing band with my Casio.

Also, I kept blaming everything and everyone else, but myself, and I was the problem not the gear. Because I was seduced by the hardware, and not bother too utilize it like I should. Because, I never asked myself what it is, I wanted to do, and now I know?

Making bleep bleep noises is not it. Anyway, thanks to everyone on here, for your advice and help. smile

My ever-so-carefully considered ideas above are equally applicable for professionals & amateurs.
