[font:Comic Sans MS]Chase Bliss' latest; your fave retailer is probably taking pre-orders for it right now.

I'm usually not so crazy about most chorus effects; this, however, could be useful.

The PGS video demo above seems to focus primarily on pretty standard, typical sounds- the following demo-vid touches more on what I would be looking (and listening) for in what this pedal is capable of:

Not new, but I missed thisn!

Looks like Digitech has had some kind of awakening. Theyve released some nifty pedals the past couple of years.

OK, not an effects pedal, but heres something you regular giggers might find useful.

Looks useful. As does their automated knob twiddling devices...

Yeah, they've come a lot closer to piquing my interest here and there, than they had in a long time. Gotta say they seem to be a GREAT company when it comes to customer service and support.

That sounds pretty good in that video; still, I really want a Fulltone MDV2 or MDV3 (most likely the latter) when I get around to scoring a real 'Vibe sometime. INCREDIBLE sound and features!

The 'Vibe modeling in my Boss RT-20 Leslie/rotary sim pedal is good enough to wet the appetite for a real-deal optical 'Vibe with a foot-treadle for controlling the speed...

I can attest to that; truly exemplary customer service & support.

IMHO, Digitech has always been the Rodney Dangerfield of Effects, never quite getting the respect they deserve.

Picked up two recent Digitech pedals, in the last few months, a new Freqout and a gently used Dirty Robot, and I've been very happy with both. You want Fripp-like tones, put the Freqout in front of a nice OD/Dist pedal, and go wild.

I know what to say...

YES!

Tha's cool 'n' all, and I'm a BIG fan of Peter Rutter and VFE, owning four of his creations, one of which is a serious MVP for MY signature style and sound; but-

-sometimes I have to ask, such as when looking at something such as this- how much time do I want spend experimenting with pedals and cables and settings, and how much time do I want to spend playing... ?

Had to respond, brother.

Like Dannyalcatraz says, for me, there's not a lot of difference. I tend to approach Guitar & SFX much the way I approach Sound Design in a Synthesizer, where each component, or pedal, is part of the whole, and influences the final output.

The beauty of something like the Klein Bottle is the ability to further integrate a group of effects into a sort of dynamic meta-system, the way some of the effects chains in the Lexicon Vortex work. Instead of having a pedal chain that runs Filter -> Modulation -> Delay, you get a process that blends Filter, Modulation & Delay. Imagine the Attack Delay on your Bumblebee influencing one of your Strymon boxes, which then influenced your RT-20, so all of them worked essentially as one big FX processor.

If I had $400 to spare, I could easily see blending a handful of my favorite pedals in this box, and that's before I start adding Synths. The one issue is that I'd really like to experiment with one IRL, to see exactly how flexible it is. Clearly, it's more than just a simple Mixer, but I don't quite see how it gets the different effects to interact?

I have to wonder if anyone has come up with a similar concept, involving a controller/interface for pedals with an Expression Pedal Input? The box would have multiple CV/Exp Outs, with internal LFO's or Gates. It seems like something that would come out the Modular Synth world, but be very useful for Guitar effects.

[font:Comic Sans MS]"A CV version of this" is exactly where my mind went, too. It would be an interesting way to create a sort of limited programmability. :)

There is this thing, but I seem to recall a slightly smaller, simpler version of the same box, when the MoogerFoogers first came out?

Moog CV Controller

Quick update: It seems that I was thinking of an earlier version of the same unit, where some of the jack covers were red, instead of all-black.

Here's the closest thing I could find.

@hurricane hugo - many thanks for the Zola video! You've inspired me to dig back into my GT-10, which has a bunch of (more or less) hidden LFO's & Triggers. It probably won't let me do everything we see and hear from the Zola, but it'll be fun finding out! (Maybe if I link it to the Pigtronix Filter Pro via MIDI?)
