OK...Happy Birthday to...

Recommended Posts

And so...

If we're also including those that have passed, I'll note that had he lived, IKE TURNER would be 86 today.

Beats ART GARFUNKEL by 10 years, who's 76 today.

It's also the 70th birthday of PETER NOONE, "Herman" of Herman's Hermits. Plus GRAM PARSONS reaches 71.

Also BRYAN ADAMS gets to 58, and RYAN ADAMS(no relation) hits 43.

THAT'S a lotta candles! ;)

And they keep on comin'.....let's hope, anyway....

JOHNNY RIVERS is 75 today, and my gal JONI MITCHELL is 74.

Happy birthday to a couple of people I've liked from first note I heard from them to now. :)

Well, remember....

There was some agreement to include acknowledging the birthdays of those who have passed on too. Note too, that I also mentioned Ike Turner's birthday. :)

Larryz, I knew that Gram Parsons was dead from reading the Keith Richards autobiography Life. I knew that Gram Parsons died from a drug overdose, but what happened to him after he died is one of the most bizarre stories in rock/country/popular music.
I rock; therefore, I am.

@ Fang, you could have said he would have been 71 like you did with Ike...as opposed to he reaches 71, I didn't know he was deceased.

@ Sharkman, so what happened to him after he died? I'm not familiar with his story... OK, I think I found it...two of his buds stole his coffin and cremated his ashes at the Joshua Tree monument per his wishes...

Take care, Larryz

EEeeewwww

That's weird. But life goes on....

Particularly for BONNIE RAITT, who's 68 today, and Joni Mitchell wannabe RICKIE LEE JONES, who hits 63. :)

Some might recall that Jones, in her debut on SNL, was looking like Joni from the cover of the "Hejira" LP. Beret and all. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RICKIE LEE JONES! :thu:

and a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BONNIE RAITT! She's still young at 68 and one of my favorite slide players. She's always great on stage and puts out some great music. Let's give them something to talk about! :thu:

Take care, Larryz

I've also mentioned in "Forgotten guitarists" that today is the birthdays of...

JOHN HAMMOND--75

ROGER STEEN--68 (and was a TUBES co-founder)

TERRY REID--also 68 and followed by...

ALDO NOVA--just 61. And will mention that many don't and didn't know Nova IS a guitar player. Some just know him from that cheezy Mtv video from the '80's. ;)

Keeping it going....

Today marks former "Tonight" show band leader and guitarist supreme KEVIN EUBANKS' 60th birthday. So I thought I'd find something to familiarize us more with his skill....

Have a good one today, Kevin! :)

Mentioned briefly in "forgotten guitarists", today is the 71st birthday of long time Jethro Tull guitarist MARTIN BARRE.

It's also birthday 51 for JEFF BUCKLEY, Tim's equally talented son. :)

Have a happy birthday in the "right place", Doc! ;)

Anyway, I seem to recall seeing this at a later date than recorded on PBS. Two greats!
