Rest in Peace Fats! You are one of the true icons of rock and roll music and will truly be missed!

I saw Fats back in high school (1968) at the San Jose Civic Auditorium. I can still see him walking that baby grand across the stage singing I'm Walking to New Orleans at the finale...Saw him again in '69 in a New Orleans night club. I listened to him on the old 45's back in the early 60's singing Blueberry Hill. A classic if ever there was one...

A lot overlook that Fats began performing professionally 75 years ago at 14 and started his recording career nearly 70 years ago!

He was an R&B icon before R & R got legit.

We lost an ICON. I did not realize he did My Blue Heaven. I as a young teen I played that one with my grandmother (her on piano and me on Sax) many times. RIP Fats. Jim
