Digital Performer version 9.5 is a free update for all DP9 owners and introduces ZTX Pro technology: audio time-stretching and pitch-shifting DSP developed by Zynaptiq. DP 9.5 also adds a new Effect Performance window, which monitors the processing load of all currently instantiated virtual instruments and effects plug-ins, allowing you to identify and manage plug-ins that impose high processing demands on your computer.

Cool; thanks for posting. Just got back from a week off the grid in farm country, so hadn't visited MOTUnation yet.

This one's a surprise, and especially that it's free. The effects load monitoring will come in handy for diagnosing issues.

I've been using it all day today. One of the things I had to do was to cut some vocals on a rush jingle gig. I grabbed a 2mix bed that I had done a while back, but it needed to be pitched down a whole step to fit todays vocalist. It worked perfectly...sounded good.

The pitch and time shift features in 9.5 seem to be the compelling thing.

Didn't have a chance to launch it yet after the upgrade, as I'm also multi-tasking the rather voluminous downloads for Superior 3, but am quite excited about the new time/pitch shift from Zynaptiq as that has gotten great reviews and will be nice to have as an alternative in cases where Melodyne may get challenged.

Also, there are plenty of times where I don't want to go through all of that extra effort, so having excellent in-place shifting will help on less critical projects or tracks.

Zynaptiq has been one of the top innovators in recent years. Adaptiverb and Wormhole are good examples.

Best,

Geoff

Oh yeah, I bought both of those products from Zynaptiq last year. It makes sense that they includes elements of the company's time/pitch shift technology.

Superior Drummer 3 has gotten a lot of promising feedback from early upgraders as well, I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion once you've spent some time with it, Mark. I imagine former MusicPlayer moderator and innovative engineer George Massenburg helped give it a top-notch sound.

Best,

Geoff
