I experimented a little with a binaural "head" some years ago, and it is really fun. Especially recording a kit from the drummers perspective.

Wasn't there a company called Ambisonics that years ago tried to recreate this experience with speakers, not headphones? AFAIK headphones are a requirement for listening to binaural recordings.

"Ambiophonics", I think.

nope, was querying 1UOM NOT the binaural audio wiki

I mean really, all I was asking was what was the difference, as I do not really hear anything between "binaural" and a normal stereo recording, and those replies are what you come up?

A weird acronym that probably means nothing to anyone bar the poster trying to be, well I have no idea!

And then a trite (and a tad condescending) post of a page I had already seen.
Sheesh!

You guys can be quite "smart-ar@#y" at times can't you, did you have to study hard for the ability or does it just come naturally?

Exactly how was Moe to know what pages you have already seen? He's a talented guy, but I don't think mind-reading is one of his skills.

Unless there were some replies deleted, I'd say you're over-reacting just a lot.

True, but he's a hell of a juggler!

Cool. I was reading Pro Sound News and there is a review this month on the Sennheiser AMBEO VR microphone.

"Sennheiser’s Ambeo VR mic uses four pre-polarized KE14 condenser capsules in a tetrahedral array. When processed with Sennheiser’s own ambisonic software and third-party down-mix software, Ambeo VR’s signals can be decoded to stereo, surround sound or a fully spherical 360-degree soundfield, contained in four channels of B-format ambisonic audio as utilized in today’s interactive virtual reality (VR) standards."

Neat stuff!
