Here's the first bit of audio from my brand new project Cali Native. It's a funky organ / horns concept. There are some great shots of the studio and various players involved in this. Will be posting more soon. The album will be coming out in about a month.

I listened to this lat night and I am impressed (but not surprised). I don't recall exactly where in the clip it was, but you took that tune to some interesting places. Nice work! thu

love the funk. Clav, B3, Wurlie all sighted in the video. Looking forward to when they get in the mix. thu

Alas I must confess the clav doesn't make an appearance. The Rhodes does though. I wanted the clav in there but it actually wasn't working, so it got relegated to music stand duty.

Kickin' it hard Bobad. When those horns started at 0:37, I think I almost threw my neck out!

The groove puts me in mind of McGriff's '"Fat Cakes."

Cool stuff - can't wait for the final copy.

Will this be accessible for people with an Apple Music subscription, or purchase only?

They are one and the same in terms of distribution now. If music is on iTunes it's on Apple Music, at least when you distribute through Tunecore.

Ok, thanks.

As an aside, how do you like Tunecore? Seems user-friendly, but I read some grumbling and not-so-favorable reviews.

I just previewed the two tracks available on iTunes and this stuff is killin'! But "Climbing the Tower"? I have no idea what that title could refer to... poke wink

We'll see. Hadn't ever used it. So far a little meh. They wouldn't accept my proposed artist name of Bobby Cressey (and Friends) because of the (and Friends) part:: they said it violated iTunes store guidelines and referred to ambiguous people or some BS. so I had to change it to Bobby Cressey which I wasn't keen on doing. I wanted this organ / horn ensemble to be known as Bobby Cressey (and friends) with just Bobby Cressey stuff referring to other projects. So that sucks. Not sure if Tunecore is to blame but they held it all up with their unclear communication on the matter. They weren't very timely with their communication either.

Yup, listened to the whole thing this afternoon.

What can I say, Bobby? It's great, all of it! The writing, arranging, playing, recording and mixing, all high quality stuff.

You can be proud of this achievement, bro!

got my copy in the mail today. Listened on the way to work this afternoon. Perfect music for driving on a sunny 83 degree day, similar to San Diego but rare for DC this time of year.
Everything Menno said. thu

I don't have time for anything to be in heavy rotation myself, unfortunately, but I have listened to it twice completely. "Watermelon Samples" is currently my fav as it features the Rhodes EP in addition to the B3 on every track.
