Great thread on recent purchases, but what do you have your eye on when the timing is right? And funds are sufficient?

My current list
- Nord Piano 3. I keep telling myself I don't need it, but I'm waning. Maybe I'll just do an Electro 5.
- OB-6. As long as we're doing 80's synths, let's do it right?
- IEMs. Getting tired of playing loud in bar bands.

Not on list:
- Any more amplification. I'm done. I'm more than done. I have more equipment than most sound guys. OK, maybe the Spacestation XL will tempt me down the road.
- Real acoustic pianos. I'm done in that category as well. Although every time a decent B3 comes on Craigslist, it's a mental struggle.

I keep wanting a Kronos. Also have my eye on a Stage 3 Compact. Won't be both for sure. No hurry for either.
Spacestation XL were it to happen would be 2018.
Radial Key Largo will be the next purchase for sure.

Possibly - but hopefully not - a basement drainage trench and second sump pump; weather-wise, it's becoming a cross between Central America and Seattle here..

Otherwise, a Key Largo would be highly useful. Gear-wise, that's probably my next purchase. Not sure when, though. Depends on how the new, expanded gutters I just bought work.

Hope the gutters work out smile Otherwise, it's serious plumbing for you my friend. Been there, done that. The joys of owning a home.

Wasn't familiar with the Radial Key Largo, very interesting, so thanks! And, yes, the Kronos always tempts me. Just because.

At some point, a main gig keyboard. Not sure what, and not in a big rush. On the radar: Kronos, Stage 3, CP 4, and Kurz.

Pretty sure most of the heads on here don't have the chops to handle a cp4, doubt they've even seen one, nevermind a real piano.

This board is full of Hammond flunkies, bro. There's no piano players here, no song writers.....nothing substantive, just schlong wavers.

and whilst I love hammond, it ain't the be all, end all.

Coming up with ideas does not depend on the gear you have.

This isn't muscle cars.

Come up with an original idea, then use your gear to substanstiate that. Not the other way around ffs.

Well, this was a thread about what you might plan to buy next.

Not exactly an invitation to rant at the world in general.

Wow, what an inappropriate comment that is devoid of insight. Low quality trolling.

Back on topic, I would love a Stage 3 compact. Not at a trigger pull moment but that would be my target.

OK, same here. A Nord Stage 3 compact would put a Electro 5 to shame. Just gotta watch the internet prices. Maybe around the holidays?

While I would like it to be amplification and recording gear upgrading, alas it will be an automobile. After 23 years and 290,000 miles my Toyota Camry is on its last legs. So, until my bank account recovers from this purchase, music gear is going to have to wait. cry

I'm solidly on the fence about a light weight, great action 88k piano centric lower tier board. Killer acoustic and electric pianos, splits and layers with bread and butter stuff - bass sounds, guitars, strings, etc.

NP3 is expensive as heck and not sure I'll like the action anyway.
PX-5S or 560 - would like to see how the 5S gets revised first.
CP4 is a proven workhorse around here - Yamaha is slow to upgrade. Would love to see them trickle down some of that larger wave memory from the Montage.
Kawai MP7 successor needs to drop some weight.
RD2000 is too heavy too.
Yah, I'm not sure. No rush though, good position to be in.

Otherwise - would still love a programmable poly synth. I'm thinking in desktop format. Maybe the DM-12. I'd love for it to be small enough to sit on my VR-700.
Or on top of CP4 or whatever stage piano. I wonder if the Gemini synth is deep?

Or screw it, and I'll go Mainstage and some killer AUs if the hardware devs continue to have trouble competing with the software developers.

NP2s are short money these days. The NP3 doesn't look like that much of an upgrade to me. OK, no splits, only layers, but it you can live with that -- a fun AP board that I've grown to love.

And super light smile

My current list:

- Radial Space Heater
- CP4
- Montage 88
- DeepMind or DSI synth
- TT08a
- SK-2 (want to work on transferring organ chops to dual manual)

Someday I may try a Nord, but I am the Warren Buffett of Nord. I don't understand their product line so I stay on the sideline.

Funds aren't a big object but unfortunately I was taught at a young age to never spend any money. So it's always a struggle to let a spit of air slip out of the balloon once in a while. So it may take a while to work my way through the list smile

Could be a lower manual for the Mojo 61. I'm also looking at the Viscount Legend Live. Radial Key Largo looks neat too.

My wishlist:

- Hammond SK1-73
- Stereo pair of good speakers for piano
- DTX-760K + DTXM12
- Yamaha EX5
- Novation Ultranova (or some really versatile VA)
- Good DAW

Not likely as of any time in the distant future:
- Yamaha VL1
- Yamaha SY99
- Roland RD2000/RD800 (RD800 only if the price is right)
- Roland FR8X

In my dreams, right?

Oh, yeah, then I'll have too much stuff and have to sell some of it off. razz

I have the OB-6. I didn't need the keys, so I bought the desktop. It sounds excellent. I love it. You almost can't make it sound bad. Buy the Soundtower editor/librarian. The filter has that characteristic sound, and it is fat, smooth, delicious analog. A Pelican Air 1555 will hold the desktop unit nicely if you don't need the keys.

IEMs are wonderful. Highly recommended. I've had the JH Audio 10-driver ones and presently the 64 Audio A6's (6 driver). The JH Audio sounded better, but the 64 Audio's fit much better. I have not tried 64 Audio's 10 or 12 ch drivers. They really cut out the ambient noise. They are my preference. If you can control your own IEM mix, you can have a wonderful sonic experience. Get your IEMs custom fitted. I've done the moulds both times - 15 min and $50 at an audiologist. I would like to try the new laser scan method.

In answer to the original post, I want one of the new Waldorf Quantum's later this year. Resonators, playable granulation and standard subtractive 3 OSC synth? Two filters? Axel Hartmann designed? Touchscreen? Yes, please!

I've made some nice resonator sounds with noise and the comb filter on my Bowen Solaris, so I know there's a lot of potential there.

Probably getting a Nord Stage 3 Compact sooner rather than later.

Would like to sell my Nord Electro 5D SW73 for a GSI DMC-122 with Gemini.

Maybe a Viscount Legend Live instead of above.

I could use a 61 key rompler, like a MOXF6 as well.

I won't buy everything on this list, but most likely the Stage 3 and DMC-122/Gemini will be bought this summer.

Chuck, I'm telling you from one red stack junkie to another, Kurzweil Forte is worth breaking the red stack for. At least try one before you pull the trigger on the Nord Piano 3.
