I am selling my beloved chopped Hammond A-100 w/Leslie 760 and extras. I use a Mojo for live gigs and anticipate getting a stock B3 and leslie for my studio.

I purchased the organ in 1999 from a company (now defunct) out of Oregon for $3,500.

The internal and external of the organ:

It is an A-100 with what sounds to me to be a solid state preamp(to make it lighter) enclosed in a plywood case which is covered with ABS plastic, metal edge guards, metal corner guards, recessed latches for the lid, recessed handles with heavy duty rubber. There is a 1/4 inch line out, 6 pin leslie out, foot switch out, swell pedal out, spring reverb, and an attenuator for the output. It has what I think are wrought iron fold out legs SUPER sturdy.

The Leslie:

760 You can see this one has been gigged a lot one handle missing and some of the tolex is torn but it is fully functional and sounds GREAT. Has wheels, is a great live rig, but also sounds great in the studio.

Extras:

I have 2 pre-amp pedals that are fully functional, I see these selling on eBay for $225-$250. Also 3 9 pin cables for the preamp pedal to the leslie.

Pricing

The whole lot: $3,000 negotiable

Here is a Dropbox link to photos of everything:

https://db.tt/SMJ9NEFb

This is a great playing/sounding rig, you either have to pick up or I can deliver in a 100 mile radius of zip code 20678

I can attest to this. Hard to believe it was 18 years ago, but several times I was the opening act before Benjie at Main Street Blues in Ellicott City, Md. So I was breaking down while he was setting up, once my van was loaded I would get a beer and listen to Benjie. If I didn't have an A 100 and a Mojo already I would buy this myself.

Nice looking chop, professionally done by the looks of it. Do you happen to know who built it?

Hi Moe/Mate,

Sorry I don't, it was a company I found online in 1999 and I remember they were in Oregon but lost touch with them then found out they went out of business years ago. It is a great chop, never given me a hint of trouble, couple routine repairs, the C/V got a little wonky at one point but my tech fixed that, had him check it out every couple of years and I oiled it regularly...

I'm sure this question will expose my ignorance, but can you tell me why you plan to replace this with a "stock B3"?

Hi Cedar, not ignorant whatsoever. I don't move this rig anymore and when I said stock I just meant a B3 with a 122 leslie, all tube. This rig is all solid state to be less heavy and more stable, if my rig is just sitting I would prefer the tube sound and pedals...

Thanks Outkaster please pass along to anyone you think may be interested. It's a unique rig but not desirable for everyone(lot of people using clone wheels now or still moving the full rig), for the right person it will be just what they want...

To answer Mate Stubb's question regarding who built this... I think I might know.

There was a person named Matt Miles who was doing this sort of thing in and around 1999 out of Vancouver Washington. He built chops for Lois Pain ( Mel Brown Quintet) Dover Weinberg ( Robert Cray ) and George Mitchell ( Diana Ross).

I am identifying this because I have seen those legs on there many times, and have seen the above players and their chops that resemble this.

I will give a plug to the OP... this is a very good price on this. New it would have been at least twice as much....if you discount the price of the leslie. It probably sold new for 4000 to 4500 for the chop itself.

I would be tempted by it, but I have too many Hammonds.

LX 88! Thanks SO much for posting this you jogged my memory, THAT was the guy!!!! I had Oregon in my mind, pretty sure that's where he (or someone he consigned with maybe) sold it out of. I was just wondering to myself if I maybe had it priced too high but think that all things included it's a fair win/win price, who knows maybe end up discounting it if I don't get any bites. Got it on reverb.com Sunday and have had a few inquiries so far but no sale, if you think of anyone that would like it please pass along the info. Thanks again for solving the mystery!
