This fantastic guitar virtuoso has been "pickin' and a-grinnin' " for 84 years.

Well, it DOES seem like he WAS born with a guitar in his hands! grin

Happy birthday to one of the first pickers I remember seeing on tv. I remember one show he said something like the song he was about to play might stunt some young pickers then proceeded to burn up the guitar with fast amazing playing. Jim

I once walked past an open doorway in back of a theater, in an alley of a street. Inside was a guy with his back to me; I seem to recall that he had a guitar strapped-on.

It wasn't till the next day that I found out that it was very likely Roy Clark- I hadn't known that he was playing a show there that night! I so wished that I'd at least said 'hi and thank-you'!

I once saw Roy Clark as a guest on some late-night show, and the man was clearly feeling good; must have been the 70's? No disrespect, I was probably feeling pretty good at that moment, myself. He talked and goofed with the host for a while, then he picked up his Guitar . . . Nothing short of amazing.
