Well, Caev, as a great philosopher once said:

And helping people find guitar gear, etc. on the Internet is about as close to handy as I get! :laugh:

I'm a bit concerned by that info your extraterrestrial android buddy revealed, though.

Yer a boon to this community and a good, friendly friend to have, Danny boy.

Meh, of whom weird is given, weird is required. The controls and circuitry are interactive and quirky, as are the potential results. 'S not much to ask to have a power-up ritual- breakfast is the moist important meal o' the day...

Thanks for that, Caevan! Usually, when I find a cool used pedal, I'll hunt for the Manual online. For such a crazy device, the Bad Comrade has a one-sheet instruction Manual. I think they should add the warning/benediction "GFL", in bold letters, as the final instruction.

No Moog EP (nobody around here carries them?), but I have 5 EV-5's, and they seem to to work with almost anything that needs a TRS jack, including my MoogerFooger pedals.

Getting ready for a weekend of catering work, but on Monday, I'm heading out to enlist the Bad Comrade. Sadly, I just missed a Subdecay Starlight Flanger, that was at the same store. Dannyalcatraz will be shaking his head at me for missing that one, I'm sure.

I know, right?! :crazy: I noticed that being the same with the manuals for all of their crazy devices.

"GFL"- Three-letter acronym for 'Good Funkin' Luck'? Or... ?

Bestaluck widdatt, Winston! Please take one with you (and a TRS Y-cable) when you check that Bad Comrade out, and please let us know if and how well they work with that pedal. Keep us posted!

That looks to be a pretty cool flanger pedal, indeed.

On the one hand, I see that the original iteration of the Subdecay Starlight Flanger occasionally turns up for fairly cheap;

but on the other hand, the Manual and Depth controls- and whatever other improvements and upgrades were added- seem to be VERY desirable features that I'd sorely miss on the original!

Yeah, I love my Starlight Mk II; the Shepard's End is my other flanger. Lots of bang for the buck. I'm looking at more flangers, but most are pricier. They're on my radar mostly because they have additional functions, not necessarily because they sound better.

@Caevan - re: "GFL", that's close enough . . .

@Dannyalcatraz - I love the idea of a Sample&Hold Waveform on a Flanger, and I've been enjoying their Prometheus Filter quite a bit.

Still seeing a big blank space, but the holy crap link worked!

Analog Modular Synths have made a big comeback in the last few years, and there's been a good bit of cross-over, between Guitar Effects and Synth Modules in that time. There are also a number of hardware Synths that have Audio In jacks, so you can run your Guitar, Bass or Voice through the Filters and Effects sections of the Synth's processor.

One warning from all of my friends who are into Modular Synths: Once you start collecting Modules, it never ends.

Hit Quick Quote or Quote, and the URL address for the given video link will be there in the text. Then you can copy and paste it in a new tab on your browser and almost certainly view the video content. Try that! I hope it works; that's how I had to do it on my old computer.

Not new new, but I missed it when it came out. This could be really cool for the right person. EXH combined their Klone with the Holy Grail Max and an effects loop to run whatever you want between the drive and the verb.

For some reason, there are a lot more videos of this pedal than there were just a short time ago? People must need a laugh . . .

I tend to run mine through Delay or Reverb, to stretch out the sound a bit, but after seeing the video with the Rainbow Machine, I may have to experiment more.

I like that! I enjoy dreamscapery...

The Pigtronix Echolution will do a lot of the same things as the Super Wizard, plus, you get 60 Preset slots for storing your sounds.

That's very good to know!

Does the Echolution include an insert loop TRS patch-in jack, as well? If so, does it allow for the regeneration/repeats to be recycled through and exponentially effected by whatever's inserted there?

No Insert or S/R jack on E2, at least not on my Filter Pro, and not that I recall on the other models. OTOH, the E2 will Pitch-Shift your echoes, and let you choose the intervals, or run your echoes through the internal Filters & Modulation FX. There's a Bit Crusher effect, although it's not nearly as ugly as say, the Geiger Counter, it can add some serious grit to your repeats. It's almost a MFX disguised as Delay pedal, and I get a few sounds out of it that sound nothing like a Delay pedal, more like a Ring Mod, or a Mono Synth. BTW, Ive mentioned it before but the Filter Pro is much less expensive than the Ultra Pro, but you get ALL the same features by using the software that goes with the E2. The mani difference is that you get fewer control knobs on the Filter Pro, so there are a handful of parameters you can only access via the software; the Ultra Pro has all the controls on the front panel.

Adding a good old Roland EV-5 Expression Pedal gives you a LOT of real-time control over the E2's parameters. Increase or decrease the Mix, Delay Time, Modulation Speed & Depth,

One other Delay I've been looking at, because I want a ridiculously long Analog Delay, is the JHS Panther Cub. ! full second of Analog Delay, w/Modulation, and an insert jack. They're not cheap, which is why I haven't already got one, but it's the only serious contender against the Mini-Moogerfooger Analog Delay, for my money. If I had the $600-700 for a full-size MF Analog Delay, no question, that's what I get.

more new stuff:

Beat me to it!

O0O0Oooh, I like that... I sense a lot of potential for me to dial-in some calamitous cyborg fuzztortion tones that I'd really enjoy... I love the dual Tone and Body EQ controls! Full-figured AND brightly burning wire-hair sounds together again for the first time!

Long, long ago- in the early to mid '80s- I used to have an original "IC/Op-Amp" V4 or V5 EH Big Muff Pi, the same as what was later to be known as the 'Siamese Dream' machine of Corgan yore. This seems like an excellent progression from that stomp!

Some of these are right on the borderline between Synth Modules and Guitar Effects. I approve, heartily . . .

I thought of you, Winston, listening to some of that, and others... :cool:
