John Warren Geils Jr., commonly known as J. Geils, has died at the age of 71. Yet another rock star that I grew up listening to has left us.
I rock; therefore, I am.

The J. Geils Band were a formidable live act. Sad to see another passing of another rocker, there has been a lot of this in the past few years...RIP.

Oh MAN-I always really liked that band`s music. They always seemed to have more going on than one first thought. Another great one gone too soon.
Same old surprises, brand new cliches-

Surprised me this morning for sure. Just 71. All I can find out is the claim he died of "natural causes". Which really doesn't tell you anything.

He never really DID get much acclaim as a guitarist, but I thought he did OK. I never much cared for all the "Freeze Frame" and "Centerfold" stuff, but as his band's "breakout" LP was recorded here in Detroit, we were kind of fond of him and his band. wink
I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!
