This is good. Maybe they feel the product has come along enough to let a little wider and more critical crowd get their hands on it.

I got the email earlier today, and am going to log into my TC account when I get home from work to see if I am still grandfathered into the Powercore upgrade discount.

Thing is, that wasn't my actual favourite of the Powercore reverbs. That award goes to one of the later, simpler, lower-priced ones that they added. I no longer remember its name, but it had a great workflow and didn't use that wonky System 6000 interface style (though many of those are great plugs).

Correction: I just remembered that the one included in Powercore was "VSS" (or maybe "VSS2") and not the full-featured rev3 "VSS3" that is now being released native.

For any of you that are serious reverb fans, you owe it to yourself to hear a Bricasti M7. There's simply nothing like it. Twelve times the processing power of the System 6000...and I don't mean figuratively.

The M7 is the real deal live too.
Native sounds fine on headphones but not on an Array.
DSP works better, but hardware Reverb just envelopes the source audio instead of adding tails
Wish I could afford one.

Dave, I believe it, just based on Slate's emulation of the Bricasti in his own new reverb plug-in! I was skeptical until recently.

What I like about a lot of Korg's alternate colors is that, beyond any aesthetic preference, they are easier to use on dark stages than the boards that have black controls on black surfaces. My black M50 was a bear that way, I was glad to see them come out with alternate colors that were much better, but alas, they only came out with the alternate colors for the 61, and I wanted the 73. Similarly I thought the titanium Kronos was cool, but only came in the 88. I wish they would start defaulting to something different from the black on black on all their boards.

Bitwig Studio 2.0

https://www.bitwig.com/en/bitwig-studio/bitwig-studio-2.html

There have been a number of things missing from Bitwig that are common in other DAWs – but we are talking about version 1. Version 2 appears to address some of those areas which may seem obvious.

You can now vary the height of tracks individually

Crossfades and fades are now possible in the timeline

VST3 support is included

The tools have been smartened up so that they dynamically change depending on what your mouse is pointing at.

Some insane ideas and GUI for editing and routing modulation

New Devices

Busch, thanks for the large photo of Korg Gadget, as the announcement I saw earlier had a tiny photo that couldn't be expanded, and I hadn't a clue what was included! Looks enticing.

The new iwavestation plug in recently released and compatible with gadget on the ipad, is so much fun... and usefull.. incredible intuitive interface it has...

For me the next step should be integration between gadget , AU units. , and korg hardware... espescially with the high end instruments that have a touchscreen...(kronos / pa4x )... full integration should boost both hardware as well as software sales...

Now, that's nice. Look at the size comparison at the 20 second mark. That's what 14% shrinkage can do: "Significant shrinkage."

I've seen the earlier prototypes some time ago that were interest. But Nancy has some really nice looking speakers now. I just saw pictures of the Baroque style cabinets and they are really sharp looking. I've seen the concept tried before but her demo sound really good. Looks like they are shooting to be a major player in the church market.

What impresses me is they do a great job at rotary sound while also sounding like a good keyboard sound system in a stop mode.

Assembled in NY all parts from china. Which is normal I guess. That's basically what Moog does aside from the Model D and Modular. Get everything made elsewhere and assemble it here. Doesn't matter much as long as it's good quality. Maybe this will be the end of the mini synth trend? Probs not. I thought they would have had a full size poly to reveal. Maybe at the event. I would have rather seen that than a full size Odyssey and ugly white MS20 mini.
