So, for the GO:KEYS ( their capitalization, not mine ) are they intentionally trying to be confused for a Nord product? At least to the casual observer.

Roland GO:KEYS / GO:PIANO

https://www.roland.com/us/products/gokeys_go-61k/

I think most manufacturers currently have avoided red because Nord has been so 100% committed to the color. But that's not to say that being 100% red implies exclusivity. Besides. There is a sort of orangeness to Roland's choice of red on this product, no?

No web presence that I could find yet, but a company called CRIMSON Technology has real time processing software called Metamorphone. They say...

"You can speak and sing in realtime by the voice of the target artists, characters, or actors."

Which I presume means you have it analyze an actor or singers voice and it allows you to sound like that person when you speak or sing in real time. Interesting... the holy grail for cover band singers?

AUDIO TECHNICA - ATM350a Microphone Systems
Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone with UniMount® Components

Great mic for saxes, violins, etc. But they offer a magnetic piano mount. Looks like just the thing for above the harp piano micing.

Magnetic piano harp mount is in the lower right hand corner of this pic.

I wonder if the VPC-1 fits in there?

If it's anything like the first shells made by Rafinelli in Reno, NV. from 30 years back yes.
Local entertainer, wannabe Frank Sinatra guy, made these locally and any 88 noter fit based on the dimensions of the Yamah KX88, the real ones, not the newer cheesecakes..

and there have been other red keyboards... Yamaha Reface YC and a whole bunch of Korgs come to mind... the only color of the Karma, a common color of the SV1, a half-case color of the Kross, and one of numerous colors that have been available for Krome, M50, and some of the mini-synths like Micro-Korg XL and Monologue. Roland also used to have red keytars.

For anyone who wants to come by and say hi to me, the most likely place to find me will be the Amphion booth (6314), right next to the MOTU booth towards the front of Hall A. thu

If any of you guys are interested in meeting brother Dave Pensado, he'll be hanging out at my booth on Saturday from 10:30 until noon. cool

It's an MPC-X, "full details are now available of two new AKAI Professional workstations, both with touch screens and featuring the MPC 2.0 software."

There's also a standalone MPC Live at a lower price point.

Definitely an area we'd like to see some advancement. For me, particularly the acoustic like actions (not compact/folded actions - which are important for gigging, but at home instruments like the Avant Grand, MP11/VPC-1, Casio GP). Also, at some point these home instruments will need to upgrade their amp and speaker tech to compete with the sound of nice acoustics. Also, the software pianos - multi-gigabyte libraries or modeling+hybrid sampled engines - someone is going to put these in a console instrument with a legit action, great DA and speaker system. There's a short list of instruments that come close now - a little larger group that cuts corners. And then there are the transducer speaker models.
