Hi Friends,

For those that are interested, we put together a short documentary on my tone search and quest for the ultimate rock organ sound. Any feedback is welcome. Thank you, Derek

Looks and sounds familiar. I tried the high power drivers, the powerful amps, ripping off the baffles - even built a cabinet with 2 woofers and 2 rotors.

It's quite the quest!

It seems like the Schaffer Replica is a big part of the sound. Is that some sort of preamp or amp simulator?

It's probably there to replicate the monster compression levels that the 1970s-era Schaffer-Vega wireless guitar transmitters gave players' sound back then.

While I'm here...hey, Derek - if you have a few minutes to spare, check out the tone being talked about here: http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2773733/1/Eric_Clapton_The_Core_HAMMOND_

Are you using both schaffer towers at the same time? Are both manuals going through the both towers or one for each manual? Would the pedals give the same effect or will only the towers work on the B3? Massive compression happening there. I don't hear ducking when the lower octaves are played. I'm guessing you have a separate signal chain for each manual?

Hey Derek. Check out the solodallas Storm pedal. It has more comp than the replica, i barely have it halfway up. I cant imagine using 2.
