Hi guys, I need some more tips how to further reduce audio escaping this home studio area of mine - as you can see, the wall (it's not an actual wall, just wooden boards, mounted onto an IKEA shelf) on the right isn't reaching all the way to the top, so a lot of the sound comes back from the other side, where the big living room area is. There's also a big open area on the back side od this photo (from where it was taken). Thanks for all the tips!

And this is how it looks like from the other side:

The obvious solution is to extend the "wall" all the way up to the ceiling. grin

Thanks Ethan. Are you sure that would help a lot? Because there's no mass on that wall, it's just wooden panels, nailed onto an IKEA rack on the other side. Any tips are of course greatly appreciated smile

Thanks!

Without being there to see it in person I can hardly even guess. But the first thing to do is plug any obvious air gaps.

I made a short video so you have a better idea how much sound is actually escaping - the whole back side is open, as well as you can see that top part of the "wall" missing. I won't be able to block off the back side I guess, but if you'd have any tips on improving anything at all, I'm grateful smile

With all that open space above the wall, I can't see any way to reduce sound from getting out.

Do you think adding more acoustic treatment on the left and right will help a lot? I want to ask before I buy & apply.

Thanks so much!

Adding absorbers will not reduce sound escaping.
