Just so everyone is on the same page...

The core band for this new album/project from Bowie is Donny McCaslin, Ben Monder, Jason Lindner, Tim Lefevbre, and Mark Guiliana. Be still my heart. love

I don't even know what to expect from the full record.

This EP by local brother-sister phenoms Tennyson is killing me right now. Beautiful sound design, killer pop writing, modern rhythms... Oo yeah.

Besides the new songs I need to learn for my band, I've been listening to random stuff, like Dopapod and old school Larry Fast (Synergy).

Dopapod, right on. Discovered them through a forumite here who supported them and got to use Eli's (keyboard player) rig. Apparently they're best heard live, though they've never made it past the border of the States.

Circles Around the Sun - Interludes for the Dead.
Neal Casal and friends create mellow, vocal-free jams for the set-breaks of the recent reunion of the surviving members of the Grateful Dead.

My favorite music to play while working.

Neal Casal - Guitars
Adam MacDougall - Keyboards
Dan Horne - Bass
Mark Levy - Drums

Pet Sounds. My girlfriend and I saw the Beach Boys movie on AXS. She never liked them before but now she has Pet Sounds on all the time in the house and car.

Audiobook - David Byrne, How Music Works. It's ok. About 20 percent how music works, and 80 percent how David Byrne works.

Saw Lucius Wednesday night on Colbert and really dug it. So fun...along the lines of tuneyards.
