Anyone heard of this guy? He played bass for Pearl Harbor and the Explosions, who broke up after their first album in 1980. Drivin' was a hit in San Francisco, and it's got a very tasty line. I can't find a thing about Stench beyond this point, however. I rediscovered the album on Spotify. Really great power pop/punk from that era.

Apparently he and his brother went on to form the rhythm section in a band called Chrome.

That song is pretty catchy, I remember watching it on late-night cable in the pre-MTV era. Here's a truly live performance of two PH & Explosion songs, not a soundboard mix.

Guitar solos last 30 seconds, the bass line lasts for the whole song.

Just stumbled across this before I leave for work, the sound is better, you can really hear the the trebly end of the bass, but that's fitting for this type of music:

Guitar solos last 30 seconds, the bass line lasts for the whole song.

after the band broke up, Pearl Harbor moved to England and married Paul Simonon of The Clash.

Really? Very interesting. Slightly related, I'm reading Chrissy Hynde's autobiography, and she has some pretty cool stories about the Clash and others.

The channel which posted the full concert in B&W has a ton of great pre-MTV concerts on it, I've lost hours of time viewing them so far.

I remember Joe dating Palmolive and Mick dating Viv Albertine, both of the Slits. Mick allegedly wrote Train In Vain about Viv.
