Looks like Fret-King is having a little fun. The Sonic is not yet in production...

^ those look like a lot of extra weight to lug around. :/

check these 3-string guitars out: http://loogguitars.com/

I'd probably go with a cigar-box guitar instead.

One of my fave singer-songwriters is a guy named Peter Case. He was in an awesome band in the early '80s called The Plimsouls, but has been mainly a solo act for decades now. NPR's Mountain Stage posted this pic of him on Twitter yesterday. I asked him who made it, and he said Eastland:

Not exactly the weirdest of the weird, but you definitely don't see it every day. Well, unless you're Peter Case, that is.

^ Reminds me of the drive-in movie ads...Makes the audience hungry for more and it would help sell a lot of beer at a bar or pizza parlor gig...the open mic clubs should love this peperoni mouth watering guitar idea LOL!

Most of Minarik's guitars are either semihollow (including an insanely detailed Flying V-type with lightning-bolt F-holes) or heavily chambered to bring the weight down...which is good considering how thick their guitars' bodies are.

My FLMS is actually an official Minarik dealer; I'm gonna have to pay 'em a visit soon. See one of these machines in the flesh(?).

Over on the Gretsch forum this guitar is readily acknowledged to be the ugliest thing since the Gibson Reverse Flying V.

+1 LOL! Yeah it doesn't look good LOL! There are about 3 or 4 models with/without Bigsby...sans pick up...white or sunburst instead of orange etc. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would have to hear and play one if I could stop laughing long enough to give her a ride...the add says it sounds great as an acoustic or as an electric! One volume knob and no tone knob so we're talking straight up here! I wonder if it will actually become a hit? But I can't help myself, I just had to share it with you guys! I mean, this is the "weird guitar appreciation thread."

ps. I know I can't stand that sound hole design...

That sound hole looks OK on the jumbo shaped Gretsch Rancher & G3700 models.

I have a G3700 & it works visually. If you want an electric pickup on an acoustic, the single coil on John Lennon's J160 did not look stupid at all. But a Bigsby on a dreadnaught? What were they thinking?
