I got my X3-2 and the sound is truly amazing! It's the first clone that has made my leslie 3300 sound like a vintage 147. I'm very impressed. The C/V definitely needed adjusting out of the box as it sounded unnatural and too warbally at first. It sounds great though after some tweaking. The only flaw I can see so far is that the bass pedals are totally unusable, as others here warned me. Not nearly deep or full enough.

Doesn't anyone have a copy of the english user manual they could send me? The link that was posted earlier in this forum no longer works since the website was updated...

i play mine through a 3300 also , same thing here , i've been getting
finally getting tired of 3300 for the last year or so but the x3 through
it is amazing . after the latest update i,ve had to tweak the c/v a bit.
i found lowering the l/c age value quite a bit ( down to about 20 )took
alot of the added throb out of the c3 vibrato . the bass is improved
but there's another fix for it coming soon . it should be good , the
organ's got a big bottom end , i'd say

Yes, I originally lowered the L/C age to 55 and that made a big difference, along with Vib3 frequency to 170, chorusdrymix to 150 and Cvirbratomix to 90. Then I tried lowering L/C age even more and yes, it's better that way (I settled on 30). The left hand bass on 838 is fantastic. Much deeper and fuller than any other clone I've played. It's shocking that the pedals are so weak though! It's not like they just need to be louder; it seems like they need a total overhaul.

Cool down, Folks!
;-)

Every system has ist limits...
And here the Limit is the space on the FPGA.

But the good news are:
due to the completely new programmed
CV there is now some free space!

Carsten is trying to program new pedal tonewheels.
It's just a matter of time !
;-)

Anyway, I find the pedal tones now more than usable....

Regarding the FPGA space...
Does that mean that no more updates can be made regarding the sound? When this "new space" is used up?

My Nord Stage 2 did not even have pedal tones at all. I find the X3 pedal tones quite usable when played through a real Leslie. But I prefer left hand bass anyway. It is fat and meaty on the X3.

Yeah the left hand bass on the X3 is really great. The 16' pedal tones through my leslie 3300 almost sound like they're a whole octave too high though..very little bottom end

Is this maybe a similar weak bass response problem that i have with my Nord C1 ?
In headphones or in a PA-system it do the job, but with my Leslie 145 the bass, and that includes the left hand bass, doesn't have 50% off that power, bass response and kick that my Hammond C-3 produce into the Leslie.. crazy

I just talked to Wolfgang Uhl today. The website gets an update
and will be online again in 2-3 days.

So, don't worry!

Uhl Instruments will soon introduce a new generation of X3 organs which will feature a smooth waterfall organ keybed. Wolfgang Uhl told me that he put a lot of R&D efforts into the manufacturing of Uhl X3 custom springs to replace the original Fatar TP-O springs. He said it's not enough to just use lighter springs because Fatar uses identical springs for black and white keys. This results in different key press resistances for b and w keys due to the higher leverage of the shorter black keys. On a real B3 the resistance is exactly the same for b/w keys. The new X3 keybed will match the original B3 key resistance values which will be identical for black and white keys.

Interesting. Did he give you any idea of what "soon" means?

My X3-2 arrived this evening. This thing rocks. The bass pedals must have been tweaked since a the postings at the top of this page. They's got beef.

No, I didn't change them from the defaults.

I have my own settings on the Leslie, Reverb, Perc.
CV is default, different AO28, tone and swell trim settings,
I use the 1972 cap setting.....the rest is UHL's defaults...

BTW:
There is a slightly tuned 4.22 version online on the UHL
support page. Wolfgang finetuned the Percussion settings !

Some Players were annoyed by the high Trigger Point in combination with the new smooth keys.... so this Option was integrated.
And to get Velocity on Midi Out for triggering a Sound module (I never connected one).

I just ignore this Parameter...always high Trigger !

OK.... so they have been updating the C/V on this.

At least to their credit they have re considered it.

I would be curious to hear a clip of something that does not mix CV and slow or fast leslie sim speeds. Most of the online HX3 demos I have heard do not feature just the pure CV sound.

I have really been enjoying some of the recent demos that Key B/ Viscount have been offering. If I could get that quality of sound out of a module I might re consider.
