i'll have find the default c/v settings maybe I tweaked myself
out of the ballpark , but I know out of the box ,it just didn't sound right . I've got to bring it do to where my 3300 is tomorrow and run it through that . maybe it's something with my phones , it's not that consistent through the keyboard . it had
an odd ring to it toward the higher end . I like the perc a lot though , and the reverb's really nice . so far , it's basically
an issue with the c/v . what are the settings you ended up with ?

I've answered my own question ,got my c/v sounding pretty good.
I got a chance to run it through my 3300 today . the leslie's
never sounded this good . the x3 as has some authentic stuff
going on and the keys feel nice to work with . the sim is sounding good in my monitor in mono ( a tad brite though )
i'll try sending it to the house this weekend , see how it
works out , we don't mike the leslie anymore . also , it seems
to amplify quite well , sounds pretty accurate through my
monitor and it's only one of those 15" Mackie thumpers

Bill,

Glad you found a good c/v setting to your taste. I can't tell you my settings at the moment since I changed my place recently and I still haven't found time to unbox my instruments and set up my new music room. After the move my wife assigned my priorities elsewhere if you know what I mean.

Just only a notification prices will change august 01 / 2015.
EUR 300.- more for both models, caused by increased material (metal- & wood parts) costs.

Next production run will be available mid october and a "halfmoon-style" 3-way toggle switch (chorale/Stop/tremolo) will be available/build into the space left beneath the lower manual of the X3-2.

I have a question about how the presets work on the X3-2 - I can't seem to get a satisfactory answer from reading the user manual:

So, I understand that the presets save all the settings, including percussion, C/V, reverb, etc. What I'm wondering is once you select a preset, is it then possible to turn the C/V ON or OFF, change the percussion, or whatever else on the fly? Or once you select a preset, are all buttons basically locked until you go back to "live" mode? On the Sk1, you can also save all settings to a preset, but all the buttons and drawbars remain active after you recall the preset. I very much hope that the X3-2's interface operates in a similar way. If not, it would be a bummer, especially if you're not able to adjust the C/V on the fly at all times...Anyone who can shed some light on this?
Thanks

Yes, it's similar. After selecting a preset, the regular push buttons (with blue leds) indicate the setting of the preset. You can then change them. The drawbar positions of the preset are indicated in the LCD, and will change when you move the drawbars.

also note , the one setting that can't be put into a preset
is the leslie speed ( slow , fast , brake ) so , changing a preset will not affect the current leslie speed setting .
i wish they would go one step further and uncouple the c/v
, percussion , bass pedal setting and reverb from the presets.
i think that would make it a little more flexable to work with .
i've had mine since july , turned out to be a very good purchase , sounds fanastic ,and very big on stage

Thanks for the info, and I'm really glad that the presets don't "lock" you into all of those settings. I do agree with you though, Bill - it seems the bass pedal settings and reverb in particular should be decoupled entirely from the presets. As for percussion and c/v go, I don't see any drawback to having those integrated into the presets, as long as you can make live adjustments as needed..

i'm having a padded bag ( with a shoulder strap and a large zippered
pocket )being custom made by the colorado case company . they do
very good work . all they need are the dimensions and a tracing of
your keyboard's profile .

Wolfgang posted on Faceboook new flight cases he is offering> I haven't looked into as I have a decent Fusion gig bag for my X3-1 that works well, but here's the info:
Fligh cases for X3-1 and X3-2
The Uhl instrument flight cases are specially manufactured for the X3-1 and X3-2 (tailored).
Special feature: Flat bottom pan and lid with 4 "Butterflies" The lid is easily removed, the organ can then be easily removed from the floor trough.

The organ thus has a permanent seat.
Weight: The walls are made of polypropylene (not as usual made of wood) - this could without sacrificing stability, a very low weight are achieved.
The Uhl instrument flight cases are made of highest quality parts and of the highest quality.

Flight case for X3-2

Price incl. VAT EUR 279.00

Flight case for X3-1

the update is finished and tested (with special Uhl-flash-tool).
It will be send out to the X3-users this weekend, with documentation (with screen shots...).

@bill:
Wolfgang told me that Carsten modified the pedal tones "a bit" what ever this means. We'll see....

What's the issue with the pedal tones? I just ordered an X3-2 and was assuming that the pedals would sounds as good as the rest of the organ...

The pedal tones are the weakest thing about the HX3. They aren't full and deep at all. Nothing at all like the real thing. I'm sure they will be updated in subsequent releases.

I never had any issue with lacking bass tone of my X3. But I heard that the bass will be optimized in the newest update which will be released this week.

I updated to 3.84 this weekend. The pedal tones don't seem to be changed at all.

That is strange. Wolfgang at UHL assured me that the new update would have a big improvement with the pedals...Do you have an UHL instrument, Mitch, or are you using an HX3 module?

I have the module. I really didn't hear any difference in the pedal tones. I didn't spend a ton of time messing with the pedal tones. But it didn't strike me as much different. It still isn't full and deep enough. Which is curious because 838000000 on the LH is plenty deep and full.

Wolfgang is working night and day on the final release for the X3...

Keep in mind, the 3.84 (for the HX3) is a public beta and not the final version.
Still beta tests are runnng....

Wondering about the action of the UHL X3-2... can anyone who owns one along with another clonewheel using the same Fatar keybed (i.e.: Mojo, C2D, Mag, etc.) give us a comparison? My understanding is there are different ways to setup these keybeds (spring tension & trigger points) for slightly different touch.

I believe the UHL boards use the standard TP80. I think the new Mojo action is currently exclusive to Crumar, though I seem to recall the Numa 2 felt similar. I'd have to have them side-by-side to be sure.

The C/V update isn't a step backwards, per se. Maybe just not ready for prime time. After all, it is currently a beta.

the x3 action is about the same as the original mojo , a little
lighter though and definately not as springy .the trigger point
, i'd say, is a tad lower . they're variations on the same theme .
something about the x3 , though , feels and plays more analoge

Yeah... The English? Not so much. You click the British flag and it takes you to the home page (in English) click on X3, and it takes you to the page (in German) and then you click on the Union Jack, and it take you BACK to the home page, but in English again...
